Drones (6-2, 195) committed to Baylor on April 29 after receiving an offer from the Baylor coaching staff on April 20. He gave his pledge to the Big 12 program over verbal offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Missouri, TCU and many others.
Drones is rated 80 overall by ESPN giving four-star status, an 89 by 247Sports, the highest rated three-star ranked assigned by the outlet, and a 5.6 three-star by Rivals.
Baylor redshirt sophomore Gerry Bohanon (2017) and redshirt freshman Jacob Zeno (2018) were also named finalists for the event prior to their senior years of high school.
As a junior Drones completed 199-of-345 passes for 3,402 yards and 46 touchdowns while rushing 124 times for 825 yards and an additional 18 scores. His performance helped lead the Sharks to a perfect 16-0 record and a Class 5A D1 State Championship.
The 2020 Elite 11 Finals will bring together top performers to receive advanced, one-on-one quarterback instruction in a highly competitive setting. The event will span three days, concluding on July 1st, and include on-field drills, routes-on-air, classroom instruction and off-field development.
The Elite 11 will be named at the conclusion of The Elite 11 Finals.
