I'm holding out for the more accurate Mary Kay poll.
Baylor receiving votes in preseason Amway Coaches Poll
On Thursday, with the 2020 football season roughly a month away, the preseason Amway Coaches Poll was released. The release of the poll is breath of fresh air of sorts for college football fans everywhere as they look for a discussion point outside of the gloomy outlook on the steadily evolving upcoming season.
That includes Big 12 country where a total of seven programs are either inside the top 25 or receiving votes from coaches around the country. Falling in the category of receiving votes is Baylor. Under the direction first-year head coach Dave Aranda, the Bears received a total of 66 points in the poll, good enough for No. 31 in the country unofficially.
Four other Big 12 programs were pegged ahead of the Bears on the preseason list while two were slightly behind in the RV section.
Oklahoma (6), Texas (14), Oklahoma State (16) and Iowa State (25) each cracked the top 25 while TCU received seven votes and Kansas State received one.
Baylor is set to begin fall camp in Saturday. The first game for the Bears, however, is still up in the air as the conference looks to finalize the altered schedule.
