Congrats. You've been embarrassing yourself on Baylor football boards for longer than anyone else in history.

That you never outgrew your junior high "pencil neck" phase tells you all anyone needs to know.
Neurotic are you?

Agree. But since this is a football board and we are discussing football and how you measure successes, well, you get it. I hope.

In the realm of football, you don't win, you don't get to play football.

A mans life and legacy was ruined.he was lied about and had his career ruined by an employer that didn't have the guts or character to fight for him or his staff.

I believe that's the point of this thread which you keep trying to make about wins and losses.
All that matters are Ws & Ls. Hell, I wish he would have saved himself. He could have saved himself and us had he played the Baylor Game. I loved the Ws just as much as anybody.

Art managed Baylor like he was still coaching at Cougar High. You could see the implosion coming around 2012. A good AD would have brought Art and his entire staff in and sat them down for a day or two to review Baylor and her Mission Statement prior to the start of each season. A competent AD would have held each coach accountable for their kids because those coaches, spending countless hours each season with their chosen position, knew the players that should have been on double secret probation. A good President would have gone with the AD to back him up.

Maybe somebody tried to tell Art the Baylor Way. Maybe not. I cannot imagine him not realizing this was not Texas Tech or U of H leadership he was dealing with.

1,916 days. It's over. Pissed away.

Aranda is at the helm and I believe his balance will yield equal or better results soon. Get on board or go ahead and shoot for 2,000 days sucking on your thumbs.

There are many things in life far more important than winning football games. Even in the realm of football one could make a strong case that there are more important things.

What is the alleged victim's responsibility to report their SA to the police and offer evidence and proof? Wouldn't it be a lot? We'll never know who the 31 players were and if the 52 rapes ever occurred because no proof has ever been required, only allegations, except for 1 guy, Elliot.

I think you answered your own question. When the "scandal" broke, most of the allegations were baseless. The police dismissed them for lack of evidence. I don't know how many there were or how many new accusations emerged after the Austin media starting their smear campaign. But everything I've read about the mess from the beginning demonstrated that there was little to no evidence for any of it. I sometimes wonder if the 52 number was just made up. The crazy part is how the BOR helped drag Baylor's name through the mud. And they still have faced no consequence for their incompetence & dereliction of duty.

To this day, my #1 wish is true justice for everyone involved. I doubt we will ever see it.

I believe that number came from the lawsuit filed by Elizabeth Doe's lawyer:
- January 2017: A former Baylor student identified anonymously as ''Elizabeth Doe'' files a lawsuit claiming she was raped by two football players in 2013 and alleging more than 50 others by more than 30 players over a four-year period . Her lawsuit describes a ''culture of sexual violence'' throughout the program.

It's even worse than that. It comes from a lawyer that was referred to the client by, guess who... his friends the lawyers from Pepper Hamilton that were running the "independent investigation." They followed that up by claiming attorney-client privilege to avoid discovery in the Jane Does+ lawsuit for which Baylor was sanctioned by the judge. So they weren't representing Baylor when they referred an attorney to a BU student so she could sue Baylor, but they were representing Baylor when the judge was ordering them to turn over documents in the Jane Does+ trial. Is it any wonder Pepper Hamilton jettisoned these racist shysters only a few months after their non-existent "report" was not released?

Oh and by the way, those numbers that the lawyer put in the initial lawsuit pleading? They were the result of exhaustive investigation that he did in the 11 days between the time he was hired and the day he filed the lawsuit. (<-dripping sarcasm in case you didn't catch it-) I'll give you three guesses where those bogus numbers came from, but you'll get it in one.

This part of it actually is not unusual. If an attorney gets a call from a potential client but cannot accept the work because of a conflict of interest, it would not be out of the ordinary to suggest the names of other attorneys who may be able to help.

Do you remember how old you were when you realized the adults, while mostly well meaning, had no idea what they were doing? I was in middle school or junior high.

Sadly, a lot of people around here (especially on the premium board) still (i) believe that there are adults out there somewhere and (ii) think that those adults really know what they are doing. I think it makes them feel better.

In September 2016, Alabama hired Sarkisian as an analyst for their football team. Maybe CAB can follow this route with Saban or someone else.
That is where he will end up, doing a year at Bama. St Nick will exonerate him and he will get hired. Saban is beyond reproach at this point. Heck, he could get Baylor in the SEC if he deemed it so...

Oh, but it is quite unethical, when the referral came from an attorney that was providing services to the potential respondent, to an attorney that was providing consulting services to the potential respondent through the referring attorney at the time. It was a crooked mess, and today Baylor got the bad news. The PH material is not privileged and must be turned over in total. Baylor's hiring of Leslie Gomez and Gina Maisto Smith constitutes the longest screw job on record. And it ain't over yet folks.

Anyone with one goddam ounce of sense knew that years ago.

Hiring a law firm was not the problem. The manner in which they were hired and used was a huge problem.

The fact that numerous attorneys on our BOR and Starr allowed this to happen I don't even know what to say. It's a testament to dysfunctional group dynamic.

Thee:

I like and respect you. You put your body on the line for Baylor when you played for the Bears and you represented Baylor in a wonderful way. Plus, you're a smart guy.

But please:

(1) Give up the "pencil neck" thing. It's stupid and it's beneath you. It brings back ugly memories of football players at Baylor when I was there, 1967-1975, (law school and the Navy added a few years) abusing and insulting small and weak guys all over campus and especially in front of Martin Hall. They made fools of themselves. The use of that term is absurd and I believe you understand that it is. You're better and smarter than that.

You were fortunate to be born big, strong and athletic. Lots of other guys were not. I'm fortunate that I was born to ultimately be 6' 2' and 190, so I never had to listen to the BS from stupid, selfish athletes at Baylor making fun of guys who didn't have the good fortune of good genetics.

(2) Give up the constant recitation of the number of days since Briles was fired by a cowardly, narcissistic, selfish and stupid board of regents which desperately needed a scapegoat to cover their sorry backsides. No one other than you cares about the number of days. Briles got screwed. Was he perfect? No. Was Teaff? No. Were the other 100 plus D1 head football coaches in America? No. Were the BOR/cowards who refused to hire a decent and strong AD and implement Title IX (which Briles would have happily followed). No.

Briles, had he gone to Tech instead of Baylor, after UH, would be headed to the Tech Hall of Fame (maybe the College Football Hall of Fame) and a statue would be in the works for him in Lubbock.

He screwed up going to Baylor where it was a cesspool of far right nuts who refused to accept Title IX, hired a cowardly president and weak AD....and by doing so, cost Baylor its reputation that may never be repaired and hundreds of millions of dollars in lost revenue and contributions....and..... the best football coach Baylor ever had.

Art Briles SHOULD be allowed to coach again.
He was a brilliant coach and the best one Baylor ever had.
