Anyone know what's going up in that area? I also see two good size slabs poured on each side of the entrance to Cinemark, any idea what that could be? Thanks.

I know they are adding building pads that have spaces for lease. It is going to make a "lawn" similar to the Domain kind of area. A courtyard in front of the Cinemark.

There is supposedly a Willie's Ice House going in along the frontage road there as well.

I know they are building two 8,300 sf retail boxes on each side of the entrance to the theater. Haven't heard regarding any signed leases yet but if they are starting construction, they likely have at least a portion of the space spoken for.

They are also building a multi-tenanted retail box along the access road along with a restaurant with patio on a separate pad site (Assume this is Willie's but not positive) along with a coffee shop and fast food spot also on their own pad sites. Two large pad sites between the access road Top Golf remain that would likely be suited for full service restaurants based on their size.

Parking for the movies is going to be beatch! Actually, already is, will only get worse!

A person that works there told me the front was going to be a nail salon and a coffee shop….. and that was two months ago.

The latest I have heard on this has more than doubled the multifamily unit count in two adjacent phases.

Local banks are dwindling.

Also heard that a hard 8 BBQ was going in that area. Saw a sign for specs on the new road side of the development this afternoon.

Yep, Hard 8 is coming into that area. Saw a group at George's and talked to them about it.

Taco Trailers.

Evidently we don't have enough because every time I drive from Woodway into town on 84/Waco Drive I see more and more of them.

I had not heard about the Hard 8. I have seen one in Burleson that went in a few years ago. But have never stopped there.

Tourists will love it and its good for big groups, but Terry Blacks will have the better 'cue.

Original is in Stephenville, but they've expanded to a few locations now in the metroplex.

Agree with the former.

Not sure about the latter. Never underestimate our materialistic and most consumeristic society to amass crap that we don't really need.

I sell Oracle and Netsuite software and did the deal with Title Max loans which is probably the most common one around here and the South. Before going to visit them the first time, I thought, "Hmmm, I'm going to visit the face of corporate greed, who takes advantage of the poorest of the poor…I wonder what it looks like.".

It was 100% women; CEO, CFO, Controller, Sales VP, Marketing VP, Operations Director, IT Director, Project Managers. All of 'em.

Sorry ladies but true story.

storage buildings are the king of commercial property.

Commercial property is a way better investment than residential.

I saw an article in the waco trib but couldn't read it because of the pay wall about the other side of the interstate and that land being sold for development.

Anyone read that? Any details in the article about what it was?

Someone posted the article on another thread. It doesnt say much other than a tract of land about 250 acres in size was sold to a Dallas developer. I imagine more restaurants and shopping or perhaps a subdivision.

From what I've heard from someone who knows the purchaser personally, they have a really really good plan for the area and it's not gonna be the same old same old. They have super deep pockets as well.

I'm not exactly sure what that even means to be honest. Is the purchaser a corporation or an individual? Does "not more of the same" mean just " fancier stores and restaurants?
