They had to shut down their restaurant this year due to the capacity limits killing them. Their tasting room was shut down for months because "it's a bar". I bet some frustrations may have mounted.

Sounds like you don't know much about how difficult the restaurant business is and that he likely poured his life savings into the winery and then opening the restaurant downtown. It's a massive financial risk.

I'm not defending the guy, I don't know him. I'm just stating the reality of the situation. Pretty tough to just hear "suck it up buttercup, you're not allowed to operate your business and make money right now, because we say so."

He is not the sharpest crayon in the box. He admitted to committing these crimes in a TV interview. I hope they throw the book at him and anyone else they can find.

Court ordered him detained pending trial (which will probably not be real soon) and is transferring him to DC. Paying a big fee does not necessarily keep you out of jail.
