Is there any news on Bonner? I have searched these forums but haven't found much. Any details on why he didnt play last night?
Thanks CT. Hopefully he gets better soon. We need his energy off the bench in certain matchups.CTbruin said:
Baylor has not released anything, but I observed at halftime of the OSU game he was on the bench with some type of wrap or ice pack on his knee. And he seem to have a slight limp. He looked like he was dealing with some sort of injury.
I think Drew is usually pretty straight up and he said in the OU preview that it was DNP coaches decision due to tightening rotations. Said there was no injury. Interesting either way.Crawfoso1973 said:Thanks CT. Hopefully he gets better soon. We need his energy off the bench in certain matchups.CTbruin said:

He's just been phased out of the rotation. He'll probably play a few minutes here and there when foul trouble, ineffectiveness or matchups dictate it. But since the second half of the Oklahoma State game, his minutes have been going to Love. I'm a big Dale Bonner fan, but you can't argue with the results.Hotsauce said:
Another DNP for Bonner.
CSD said in post-game there are no injuries.

Langston has played great off the bench, but he is not playing the point. Adam played 38 minutes. In the games where Adam needs to rest or is in foul trouble, I would expect to see Bonner.GoodOleBaylorLine said:
Bonner seems like a good dude, but peak Love is better for the team than peak Bonner.
I think ballhandling is the issue. The team has shown itself capable of breaking presses and sharing ballhandling duties with our 3 starting guards. Love simply gives us an extra scoring presence that is much needed.xxx yyy said:Langston has played great off the bench, but he is not playing the point. Adam played 38 minutes. Are you certain Cryer, Love and Grimes are staying? In the portal era, anyone can leave. I would be surprised if all of our players don't get an unofficial call from a guy close to a big program, wondering if they're interested in making a move...Crawfoso1973 said:
I'm pretty sure this is Bonner final year. Replacing guards Key, Flagler, Bonner with Miro, Walter, and Grimes.
And most who have transferred out are guys we didn't want to keep for one reason or another -- Bello, Crump, Dennis, Stargell Love, etc.historian said:
Drew has a very good record of retaining people. Most who leave go pro or lose eligibility. The younger generations may change that but hopefully not. It's all part of Drew's culture of J.O.Y.
