I know these mid season rankings are semi-useless but scratching my head on Purdue losing to Northwestern and losing 2 of their last 3 and remaining #3. Kansas State has been on a big slide too... maybe they get a Big 12 bump but losing 4 of the last 6 and still sitting at 12?

That being said, its a tough year to pick. Every team in the top 20 could lose their next game.

I don't love our defense but we have as much of a chance as anyone to win it all. It will take some luck and shots will have to fall but we are solidly in the mix of teams with a chance.

Damn..at 0-3 I read on here from many we weren't making the tournament..and were questioning the NIT.

With a break in Lubbock tonight we could be in first place around 10pm tonight.

I think the issue is that Purdue still only has 3 losses and you would have to move a 4 loss team in front of them to move them down any more spots.

Wouldn't we still be in 2nd due to H2H tiebreaker ? At least seed wise for B12

No tiebreakers for regular season..that's just for seeding for tournament in Kansas City.

If Kansas sweeps us but we still have same records we are conference champions too

Of the top 10, only BU and KU have losses only to other currently ranked teams (UT lost to Illinois in December when the Illini were ranked, but they aren't now).

Bama blown out by 9th place OU
UH pratfall at home vs Temple
Purdue loss at home to Rutgers and at NW
UCLA lost at USC
UVA lost at VaTech
Arizona lost at Stanford
Tennessee back to back buzzer beater losses to Vandy and Mizzou, plus home losses to Colorado and UK

Good info, didn't know that was the case in determining regular season champ

They didn't remain at #3, they fell to #3. Show me the teams below them that you would put over them.

FWIW.... we are currently being given the seventh best odds to make the Final Four.

TCU looking like they might be a good value bet right now at +800 assuming they get Miles back and get him acclimated before tournament time.

These boards....all of them are top notch in taking a few data points and betting the farm on an outcome based on those points.....whether they be positive or negative data points.

I think you mean KSU. We already beat Kansas.

#22 TCU (HOME)

So, of the top 10, do we have the highest number of top 10 wins? Victories over Kansas and UCLA.

Have any others won 2? I know Tennessee and Kansas beat Texas.

Can we defund the semantics police?

UT, KU, BU, UCLA, Virginia.

I am not saying Purdue isn't good. I am saying if they weren't Big 10 they would have fallen to 8-10 for losing 2 out of 3 to good not great teams.

March Madness is gonna be phenomenal. Probably the most wide open in years. No team is head and shoulders above all others.

Kansas cannot sweep Baylor since we already beat them. I guess that means you intended to say K State.

Today we are currently the highest ranked 6-loss team. In fact, with few exceptions Beh-lor has been consistently ranked the highest team for any given loss count.

Baylor is on the upswing and the polls have been quite generous throughout the season. Started ranked #5 and trending right back to that spot. Baring major injuries drews squad should finish 5 of our last 6 contests with a W.

Even if that doesnt happen we will be fine for seeding. This group has grit and despite our weak D find ways to win.

So glad we have something to look forward to now that fb is over.

I think so. I don't understand those odds previously posted. Way too high for those top 4 or so teams. Would short a few of those.

But you can't rank them on what you think their record would be. They are P5 in probably the second best conference (although we are miles ahead), and they have fewer losses than everyone you named. Heck, UCLA and Virginia play in inferior conferences than the Big 10. Why are you giving them more credit than Purdue?
Quinton
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yep, have to rank them like that based on real results

But we all know Purdue, Bama, and Houston would at an absolute minimum already have 3 losses in big 12 play (Bama already has one to one of the worst teams in the league)… probably 4.

It's near impossible to consistently beat good teams in this league on the road as Bama got a preview.
