What an amazing sequence! It reminds a little of some of the possessions in the natty team's thrashing of Auburn.

They tried to trap us early and were successful. Drew made a great adjustment, spread the team out, said move the ball and WVU was running around while we got open shots.

Keyonte seemed a little rattled with the WVU double teams but that will be a great learning / growing experience for him.

Yep - it is night and day different than early this season. We've really seemed to gel with EJ's return.

When we move the ball and it doesn't stick with one of our guards in a bad iso possession, our offense is virtually unstoppable.

Isolation and the pick-and-roll game are a big part of what we do, but we're at our best when we're driving to dish and making the extra pass, rather than going one on two or three and settling for an out-of-control drive or step-back 3.

If you look at our best offensive games compared to our worst, the tale is almost always told in our ratio of assists to made buckets. If that ratio's high -- and it usually is -- we're going to be very difficult to stop. If it's not, we're likely going to be stuck trying to grit out an ugly win.

Well said. The one on one with forced shots also leads to a lower shooting percentage which also exposes our transition defense. We are getting much better in our half court D, and it sure is nice to have an opportunity to get set after a made shot.

Go back and look in the game thread and you'll see when I posted at one point relatively deep into first half when it was neck and neck, we had 3 assists and 6 TOs. WVU was playing wrestleball and we weren't doing the things we needed to do to get away from it. We got a little bit of breathing room with the lead, then we started zipping the ball like shades reminiscent of 2021. This took WVU out of their wrestleball style. We finished the game with 19 assists and 13 TOs (a couple which were near the very end when we had the deep bench in the game).

As mentioned by others in this thread, if we're moving the ball really well around the perimter we are virtually unstoppable because we have so many good shooters.
