Can't quote anything or point you to anything, but what I have heard from guests on Smoak's show, the LHN will be going away as soon as ESPN can get it done. May have heard wrong, but that is what I THINK I heard.Johnny Bear said:
Assuming the LHN continues in its current form after the move (and I've seen nothing to indicate it won't) I'm wondering how that's going to go over with their new conference mates. And I find it ironic that purportedly the "last straw" for the aggys that sent them packing for the SEC was the introduction of the LHN and the perceived unfair advantage it would give UT. So now they're perfectly fine with it??
I believe that our brethren in the SEC should have the pleasure of watching reruns of Longhorn triumphsJohnny Bear said:

LHN going away. Failure for ESPN and SEC won't allow it. Only thing it was good for was Longhorn ego.

"The Longhorn Network will be folded into the SEC Network," Del Conte said. "We have a year or two left with the Longhorn Network. Then, all that inventory stays with us."

From the perspective of everyone outside Texas (SEC, ESPN, etc), there will be no reason to keep the LHN once they have moved.
I often wonder if Longhorn network money financed the scandal that took down Baylor football.Johnny Bear said:historian said:

When has there ever been a reason for the LHN aside from ESPN and the selfish interests of UT itself?
Fortunately it's apparently soon to be ending life cycle coincided with one of most athletically unaccomplished periods in UT sports history and it really didn't have the unfair advantage impact that many feared it would when it was first introduced. Anyway - good riddance when it's finally gone.
I think one of the big concerns was their airing high school football and using it as an inferred recruiting advantage. I don't think that ever happened?Johnny Bear said:historian said:

It will air right after the "Smokey and Friends 'Chanukah in Tennessee' Special".gobears20 said:
So will they move this to the sec network?

I know (volleyball too) - hence the emphasis on "major sports".
