It's amazing how often Baylor fans are willing to declare a game lost before it is over. How many are channelling their inner troll??
Almost as amazing, is how many fans expect the opponent, in what is a must-win game for them and at their home finale, to just lay down.
Except no one was doing that
Go back and read the thread. Yeah some did.

Quinton, there is a reason your posts get no stars.

Thamba and Lohner need to play angry. Either they have 2 x 4s for hands… or they hold the ball like it is a kitten.

Please tell me we won't have Lohner and Thamba on the floor. Neither can dribble or pass or shoot free throws at a consistent clip.

To be fair, thamba is literally one of
Our best free throw shooters now

Impossible to believe. I know. But it's true

You just gave me the mental image of those two guys swatting kittens with 2 x 4s!

End of game Flo is money.

Dale is playing ball now... was great again. Playing within himself and not forcing anything. Has earned minutes for this end of year run.

Will be interesting to see how Drew implements him when George is back. I agree with Bear2 that George and Cryer probably need to be staggered more often.

I don't know the stats but if you look at his free throw shooting post 5.5 years into his career here, he's gotta be approaching 75%. Sure we have better but he's actually not a liability

Even buried two flagrant foul free throws last game with no one on the line

I continue to be shocked and amazed

His stroke looks great right now. Wouldn't mind Flo popping out off the screen for a jumper in the real offense.

Love ya, Fre but Flo is not "money". He's a 64.1% overall FT shooter, a 61.2% FT shooter in the 2nd half of games. It's all available with some research. Remembering one game is not a full season.

And, if you look at the final 2:24 he missed two wide open bunnies that both resulted in an easy open 2 point layup on the other end and then a 3 pointer for Ok State = a 9 point swing. Luckily, he didn't fumble another one on the long wide open press break and was able to dunk that one without missing.

Dane, I think he is over 75% since January. I want to say 45/59 before this game. I think everyone is just noticing the improvement. He was bad in OOC but the stroke looks smoother at least at the line.

On the finishes around the rim.. well we already know and I think most agree with you
DanaDane

Quinton -- I'm not saying he's not better than where he was. He certainly is. And it's been fun watching the improvement. I, as well as you and others remember the repeated airballs from the FT line over the years, and the form is 1,000 times better. But "money" is 85% and more, not in the 60s or 70s. Either way, we held on and won and that's the important part!

In Big 12 play, Flo is shooting 73.5 percent (50-68) from the line. He's improved dramatically over the course of this season.

Yeah I haven't done the math but I watch every game. I think he'd made 20 in a row at one point? (Maybe it was 10)

This is a dude that was at or sub 52% for his career

I'm literally talking just since say January 1st. Large sample of games.

Completely off the charts statistically speaking. Like a 3 SD move from his 5.5 years or whatever bricking free throws at Baylor.

Would be cool to Know the exact numbers (too lazy to look it up) but if he is 45/59 you say, wow
DanaDane
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Definitely much better than he was, Fre. Just not "money" in my definition. It's okay if your definition and mine are different. I'm happy with the improvement. It means we're getting more than what we were, and Drew knows better than me whether he or Jon should be out there at that time.

Oh true, I didn't read what you were replying to. Only LJ has that % and I wouldn't even call it $ late game.

Yep that is since Jan 1. 47/62 after accounting for tonight so 76%.

The Iowa St game was in December so that's why bear2's big 12 number is different. Still well over 70%.

No I get it. I would consider a Curry level guy to be basically automatic = $.

As far as entire college teams go, Jay Wright's Villanova teams have been excellent at the line and always felt like they would hit any late game FT they got.

You're a bit late. I moved on as soon as I posted. Only came back for clarity.

And neither am I a bully, tho I plead guilty to being a smartass when kiddos try to play Internet Tough Guy.

When a guy who wasn't even sniffing the court two weeks ago and was essentially our 9th or 10th player is called upon and responds with double digit offensive performances and solid D against a Top 10 team and then on the road in a difficult place to play, you definitely have a scary team! Not a lot of teams can do that.

If we can get Love and George back to 100% and Bridges and Bonner continue being reliable spot-up 3pt shooters, we can absolutely go on a tear here.

So long as Keyonte's ankle is fully healed, I think the rest might end up being the best thing for him. 1) because it looked like he was starting to hit a little bit of a freshman wall, and 2) it lit a fire under Bonner, and he's now playing the best ball of his career.

Don't forget EJ is progressing as well with his movement appearing to improve with every game. We're still vulnerable and last night might've been very different if OSU hadn't missed so many open shots before the last few minutes, but the trend for us still appears to be headed north, especially if we can get healthy for the post season.

One thing is clear - having big leads is bad for us. I almost don't ever want to see it now.

Agreed. This OSU game exposed 2 key issues that might bite us in the tourney: 1) continued bad offensive possessions to end halves / burn clock and, 2) continued bad offense to try to burn clock and maintain leads. To use a football analogy, when we get big leads we revert to a prevent defense, dropping back 6 defensive backs in a soft zone that gets shredded underneath. The old football adage is that a prevent defense only serves to prevent your team from winning. Obviously our coaches are probably working on these issues with our team as I type this.

Just a quick question: Did you watch either of Kansas' last two home games?

If yes, did you notice anything applicable to Baylor and the Big 12?
