Case in point, St Mary's was supposedly 6 or something prior to being down 40 to Gonzaga late in their game. That isn't the 6th best team. Might make a nice run, overrated by the metrics that can't adjust to teams that play efficient with weak schedules.

Discounted by 3-4 puts them in the 20s which is much closer to reality

As noted, this team was very fortunate to still be ranked top 10. As a Baylor alum, of course I want them to succeed and get a good ranking, but I also want to be realistic. There is no way this team currently deserves a higher seed than either KSU (0-2 record against) nor ISU (now 0-3 against) with comparable overall records. Had they split games with these teams the argument could be made in favor of the Bears overall schedule.

I fear that Iowa State debacle is going to be the final nail that costs us a 2 seed.

Yeah. This bunch isn't going far unless we jump into the NIT. Been a long while since I've seen a bigger cry for Uncle out of a ranked team. One and done once again.

NIT is this bunch's key to success

I would caution against this thought if only because we've played exactly one team outside our conference in the last 2 1/2 months (and won), and given how ridiculous this league is I think it casts some unbalanced shade on our team's ability to make a run.

We shouldn't have lost to ISU like that, twice, but ISU's record only is what it is because it's playing in the deepest, most elite conference in college basketball since the early 00's ACC.

Do I think we'll make a deep run? No. But I think we can wreck some faces and go out swinging hard a couple games deep. It may well feel like we're taking the donut off the bat.

Head to head always trumps these stats, ESPECIALLY when they have played twice and swept both games and have a better in conference record. As a Baylor alum, I wish this wasn't the case, but that is the reality.

Are you already fogeteing how tcu won a big 12 "title" by finishing 2nd? These are new rules. Girls are girls. Boys are girls. Yadda

On the contrary, that is why all of us rightfully were upset.

Have no idea how they are still ranked in the top 10 after the past few weeks of games. If they lose to ISU again they should be no higher than a 5 seed.

Do you watch any other college basketball?

Do you still disagree with my assessment?

Do I agree with your assessment that we should be lower than a 5 seed? No.

It seems like you're taking delight in us not playing well right now. Weird flex, but you do you.

Not sure where you get delight from, and I didn't say lower than a 5 seed. They deserve to be anywhere from 4-6, with a 4 seed being more likely. Wish they would have earned a 1 or 2. The premature loss of Sochan along with the departures of Brown and Mayer left gaping holes in the frontcourt. Wish it wasn't the case, but that's the result. Would love nothing more than seeing a surprising run in the tournament, though not probable at this point. I hope they prove me wrong.

Illinois lost to 10 seed PennSt with him, so… doubtful

Marquette won the Big East tourney - they will definitely pass us.

Watching the UVa/Duke score now as Virginia is one they could bump ahead of us too.
