Got a feeling the overwhelming love for predicting 'Bama winning it all by the pundits virtually insures it won't happen especially in a year like this when there isn't a clearly dominant team out there.

Just for the record, UCSB does have a pretty good big, and I do mean big. He's like 6'9, 250-260. He's a grad transfer from Cal, where he started for a couple of years. He's hard to move out of the low post given his size and he's a decent rebounder. Averages about 10 points a game. His size tends to draw fouls on opposing bigs so Flo and Jon will potentially have to be careful of getting into foul trouble.

UCSB has several other tall, rangy kids on the roster around the 6-8, 6-10 mark but none of them did very much in the few games I saw UCSB play.

I haven't seen UCSB play, but depending largely on the athleticism and quickness factor, I'm wondering if Flo for all of his obvious faults might actually be effective against the big you're describing, especially if said big is more like a traditional back to the basket low post pounder type player? Flo has shown from time to time that he can limit these types on the the defensive end at least (I'm thinking Drew Timme as an example) if they aren't overly quick and athletic.

Drew said Love sees a doctor today for checkup so he sounds confident..and Flagler's ankle he hurt in KC shouldn't be an issue..

Bears end up 11th in final AP poll.

I remember a team in 2021 that everyone was convinced was going to stroll to winning a Natty....until they didn't.

Love news is huge. Even if he can just spell one of the guards and play good D that is huge. Prob going to take him a couple of games to get his legs under him. Hopefully he had been able to continue to do some sort of cardio work.

My bad, thought he was a reclassification possibility as I kept hearing his commitment was contingent on the nba ruling this year.

For some reason there is far too much Alabama love. Maybe some of these people are mistaking MBB for football! They are very good but so are several other teams including Kansas & Texas. We had that potential a few months ago but our plays could not consistently play good defense. It's not enough if it's only some games or the first half of certain games.
