I already created a bracket with Baylor winning it all even though I know it's not happening.

Then I will rephrase: I have little to no confidence that it will happen. If our defense is like the 2nd half in Lawrence, or at least half a dozen other games, then we will be lucky to get to the second weekend. We also need to rebound better, make more shots (not missing easy ones), win the turnover battle, and so on.
What I've seen of Alabama & Texas lately is much better than what I've seen from Baylor, despite our win over the latter. I sincerely hope I'm wrong but I've watched this team lose to Iowa State 3 times (once in person), blow a nice lead over Kansas, barely hold onto a lead over OSU, & get swept by K State. As good as those teams are, we should have won at least half the games we lost. A national championship caliber team would have a better record.

How do you know it's not happening? 2 weeks ago Baylor beat Texas…We also beat Kansas…We also beat Gonzaga…We also beat UCLA…Oklahoma SPANKED Alabama… There are no favorites this year…Our chances are as good as anybody's.
Thank YOU, Houston, for the legacy you will leave. The American is a Conference of opportunity and you seized those moments. You will always be part of our history and we can’t wait to see you make the most of your opportunity this March!❤️

I recently wrote on the flip side of this: preseason top ranked teams that slide down the seed line. They’ve done well, like at the expense of these teams @HoopsInsight https://t.co/EKdclp5WGV

I agree but our margin for error is thin. We have no reliable ability to score inside the three point line and we are bad defensively. If we go in a 50% shooting rampage from 3pt line we can beat anybody. But it's unlikely against teams determined and capable of stopping that. Bad formula for long NCAA run. That being said I think we beat Texas if we were in their bracket.

But, will they defend without fouling?
Since 2008 the average national rank for champion’s “defensive FT rate per FG attempt” is 62nd.
No champ has been worse than 167th - 2021 Baylor.
Houston enters wayyy down the rankings at 286th.
It’s the best time of year! My #MarchMadness brackets will get busted soon enough, but here are my picks.

Either I'm done the first weekend or I'm gonna be ahead of a lot of people because after this weekend I think there are gonna be a lot of disappointed people who had Texas going a long way.
