Couldn't help but notice every Creighton 3 attempt was closely challenged by SDSt defender where as they shot wide open 3's against us.
But basketball is very much a game of rhythm. Comfortable shooters are good shooters. Uncomfortable ones are bad ones.
SDSU makes you uncomfortable all game. We help you settle in by literally leaving guys unguarded.
Hard enough living in Austin and watching them celebrate a swimming/diving natty, imagine if they won one in a a major sport? Gag me.

Looking more and more like they're at least going to make it to the championship final barring a collapse in the second half against Miami (not beyond the realm of possibility, but unlikely). If that unfortunate scenario plus out we can only hope UConn is there to take them down.
Can't see them hanging with UConn but then who knows. They are a gritty street ball bunch with a group of old confident guys.

Big question is can UConn find a way to stop them? Zags always seem to be over hyped and they dismantled them. Athletically, I just think the wHorns are superior both offensively and defensively. They always start FAST and put the opponent in a make up situation. My insides curdle thinking about it, but I don't see any of the four… Miami, UConn, FAU or SDSU stopping them.

My bad. Well hopefully UConn takes them out in the semis (if Miami doesn't come back).
Why the surprise? It was always the winner of Texas v UConn. Texas was going to beat Houston with their better bigs and their battle tested guards. It probably wouldn't have been all that close
Uconn is a better team at peak but Texas is one of the only teams in the field that can beat them. A massive home game for Texas and how it impacts the team is the X factor… assuming they hold on here

Mehh there was plenty of teams in the field who could beat UConn. Let's not act like their some dynasty. They lost like 8-9 games this year. They're playing ridiculously well right now but they aren't unbeatable. Discounting SDSU as a team who could beat either Texas or UConn would be awfully silly.
I'm not sleeping on FAU. That may be the most complete team in this field. Top 20 in offense and defense, great guard play and a skilled 7-footer.Quinton said:

That team should have been about a 4 seed.
UConn has played the longest at an elite level this season -- during their 14-0 start and again during this current run. But I agree, they're not unbeatable. Any team in the Final Four could win it all IMO.IowaBear said:

Who? Ucla could have but they had critical injuries. Big east teams could have as familiarity changes things.
Nobody else, Not their peak form. They aren't great but the top end of the field is historically low this year and last (outside of a healthy Bu in 22')
Bama, Houston, Gonzaga, Purdue, Ku all get run. Texas has the best balance and physicality to do it.

San Diego st doesn't have the offense to go with Uconn
Again doesn't make them unbeatable. They had a really rough 12 game stretch. They're very clearly beatable. Assuming they're going to basically slaughter their way to a title is foolish. SDSU can easily beat them. And yes the Aztecs will beat the Owls. I'll eat crow gladly if I'm wrong
I'm saying tournament UConn. Either of those teams could beat Texas. I am biased as I pointed out UConn when they were still in the 20s early season. They jumped off the screen when I saw them and was surprised.

I'm not disagreeing. To this point they've been the most impressive team and I'm not sure it's close
They also are undefeated out of conference.
I think FAU is a better team than SDSU. If they can handle their physicality, they'll beat the Aztecs. They're a vastly superior offensive team.IowaBear said:

We'll see. SDSU is a very good team obviously -- fantastic defensively. But to win a championship, you've got to be able to score. FAU is very good on both ends of the floor and at 36-3, they play like they expect to win every close game.IowaBear said:

To beat them, you're going to have to put them down. SDSU might be able to with its physicality. But if it can't, FAU will advance IMO.
Canes cut lead to 4, forced ut to use a time out. Can they keep momentum?

This Texas team really creates a moral dilemma for me. If it wasn't Texas, I would like it a lot. This is a gritty, blue-collar bunch. But it's Texas. I just can't root for them.
This is the Texas I remember from previous years
If Texas get to the Natty game I win my bracket pool and a solid $400. So um go Cows
