Wouldn't be surprised if Sampson told him everything he wanted to hear. Very surprised he's going to Houston.

Sampson probably didn't need to tell him much. $$ does the talking.

If left for NIL good for him. Baylor has to put up or shut up. I'm tired of people *****ing about the NIL. It's the big leagues; join the party or get left behind

I'm fine being left behind. What currently passes for NIL is ****ing stupid, and anyone who gives money to it is being cucked by universities and conferences sharing billions of dollars while using their alums to buy recruits and fund players they should be paying themselves.

The current college landscape blows. And it will until the universities create a collective bargaining system with reasonable guardrails that actually funds the athletes with the money being made off them, not more "donations" from boosters.

I don't have problem with players being compensated, and I'm all for actual name, image and likeness deals for athletes who have earned them. But this current pay-for-play system is a joke ... and it's on the fans being asked to pony up while the universities continue to hoard money.

I'm still shocked they've cowed the media into allowing what the men and football / basketball players get not remotely comparing to what they give the women

Amazing wht they'll turn a blind eye to

One of the most interesting story lines outside of our run next year. Maybe LJ can become servicable on D.. maybe Sampson can unlock him despite the physical limitations. But their defensive talent is not great next year. Won't be as bad as our hobbled group so might be able to cover for him a bit. Would still be very surpised for LJ to become a mediocre defender but I guess stranger things have happened.

Before all the foot problems in the past 2 years, I though LJ would struggle with the physicality of the Big 12 , but could destroy defenses with his shot making and the speed to get an open shot on the break. After the foot problems, I did not see the speed from him, in part because you actually need to make a defensive stop to get a fast break. If LJ can get back to form, he will do a fair amount of damage for Houston. He can put up 30 faster than anyone.

He's by far their best scorer. He will put up points which they needed very badly. But with LJ they have two barely 6 foot guards on the court at once assuming this point guard thing is just a brief stint each game. Along with another medicore guard on D. The setup is a bit like ours last year with less scoring pop and a bit more defensive ability.

Ill be very interested to see how LJ fits and how much allowance he is given on D.

CSD has had the #1 player development program in the nation over the past 2 decades especially for guards. But I get it, sometimes the grass ($$) is greener elsewhere.

If that is what he was looking for ($$), no hard feelings, and best of luck to him. If someone is telling him he's a finishing touch from a first round pick, he's been sold a lake house on Lake Powell.
