How many scholarships do we have available for potentialTransfers/New Recruits? Is it 5 (total 13), or am I missing someone?

(For purposes of this list, I'm assuming Flag is gone; hopefully I'm shocked and he announces a decision to run it back 1 more time)

Bigs
1. Tchamwa-Tchatchoua
2. Ojianwuna
3. Bridges
4. Lohner

Guards
5. Love
6. Grimes
7. Walter
8. Little
9. Jayden Nunn - (VCU - added 4/18/23)

If Missi is still looking to reclassify? That would give us at least 9 scholarship players.
I'm a thousand miles from being in the room to know anything, but I am getting the vibe that 2 years from a National Championship, the transfer portal fishes aren't jumping at the hook for us. If so, how bad is our NIL setup in comparison to other programs?

Too soon to tell for sure but we're all feeling that "vibe." In danger of losing momentum soon. AD constant interviews on doing it a different way and bball comments alluding to Nil having an impact.

HS recruiting still top tier but need to play the transfer game and quickly. Need a proven Scoring guard in addition to the Vcu kid and a few wings/bigs.

We can wait till all the names are in but it's not just you

Relax. 2023 and 2024 are two of the best recruiting classes in Baylor history. We have hit a rough patch but I don't think anyone we lost is irreplaceable.

I'm ok with reasonable compensation that is regulated fairly but not interested in buying wins. I hope we don't go that route.

Drew figured out the formula and won a National Championship…And right after that the rules drastically changed and he is having to figure it out again on the fly.

He's looking for cultural fits, which is smart. It's just a question of are there enough of them available who can really play?

I agree with the sentiment. But if NIL is going to continue--and there is no indication it will not-- we either have to embrace it or settle in for mediocrity in Football and Basketball. I would love to be wrong, but when 1 in 5 or 2 in five college players are in the portal, they're likely all not looking at a better Campus ambiance, but a payday.

So once everyone here starts contributing to the Waco Collective the problem is solved because our campus ambience and program culture will be the tiebreaker n'est pas?

And Armstrong Browning is the clincher?
I would suggest they consider a change of name. Getting Baylor folks to join the "Collective" just screams wrong to me...

Flagler declared for draft earlier today.

We are probably going to be outpriced as far as purchasing the big names in the transfer portal. When the spots are filled I think we will be like "who??" I feel we will probably get some under-the-radar guys like we did back in the mid 2010s. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Guys like Nuni Omot, Jo Lual-Acuil, Ish Wainwright, Royce O'Neal, EJ were far from household names at the time but fit our culture and our system and were willing to work and develop. Drew has always been able to find these diamonds in the rough and he will need to do so again since we are unable to compete dollar for dollar for the bigger fish in the portal.

We need 4 portal players, I think. I just don't want any more reclassifications. Bodies are just too young.

Money doesn't grow on trees. Drew will have to sell more than money going forward to get the great players. It is the law of diminishing returns over time. Larger conference will win the NIL game and further separate from us.

Just a fact, it looks like.
