Is this true for the opening of Foster?

I believe that some of the offices that located in Robinson Tower may have been relocated to Hurd. Don't know if that's 100% accurate, but that's what I heard. It would eventually make sense to relocate Robinson to the campus for greater accessibility. Who knows where that would be but there are some green spaces right now near the business school.

Why can't people spell the name of our stadium correctly?!!

It's named for Drayton McLane, a wealthy alumnus & BMD, not John McClane, a fictitious character from a 40 year old movie. A great film, if you like that kind of thing, but not a Christmas movie.

Also the Ferrell Center has two L's.

Doesn't amount to much....but everyone in the comments is asking why we didn't make it at least 10,000 seats and can't believe how small it is.

It's smaller because Baylor is still a relatively small university, at least compared to the large state schools.

FU Kansas fans.

For perspective, the Mayborn center on UMHB campus holds 2,500 seats - Baylor is 3x that size, so this is going to have a very close feel to it.

Love it! Go Bears....

For noise I'm not worried at all about having it smaller. Gallagher-Iba only held 6400 and it was loud and hard to win there. G. Rollie White was another place hard to win at and was crazy loud with 7800.

Everyone needs to chill…..I'll guarantee you that within 10 years Robinson Tower will be no more. These things (clear throat…) take time to work themselves out. Patience.

Our fans have thin skin. It's a small arena, no matter how you try to justify it. So what? Embrace it. When other fanbases are throwing barbs, it's actually a sign of respect for the nationally relevant program Drew and his staff have built over the years. We are viewed as a perennial Top 25 team, conference champion challenger and potential national champion challenger every year. So, in their minds, we should be able to sell out 25,000 seat arenas, which all of us know the reasons why we can't. They have no idea what are enrollment is, alumni base numbers, support from Joe Waco or any other challenge, and frankly they don't care.

Just sit back, smile, and take it as a full sign of the fact we are viewed as a basketball power around the entire country. Besides, it's what Drew wanted and as far as I'm concerned he earned the right to have full voice into what it is by virtue of what he, his staff and his team did in April '21.

Would you rather play in a 12,000 seat arena about 2/3 full or a 7500 one packed and loud? It will give a true homecourt advantage and also make tickets a hot commodity. The exterior isn't very appealing but the inside looks well designed.

Kansas fans can chortle, they're like Yankee fans (back in the day), a century of basketball dominance earns a fair amount of swagger. But for other Big 12 fans and for most of the country, I would note that our new pavilion will have something they don't: a National Championship banner.

There should be a ceremony of bringing the banner over--former players, etc.

Speaking for myself, I spelled it wrong because I use speak to text, and I guess I didn't proofread as well as I should have. I'm sorry that offended you. Why do some Baylor people act so arrogant and frankly kind of effeminate about small issues? Some of y'all could get set up for a date with the hottest woman in America, and you would complain about her shoes

I now realize that it's mostly the Kim Mulkey crowd that praises the very ground that she walks on. She could have demanded that the stadium be built out in Elm Mott, and people would praise it as genius and be upset that we didn't follow her divine plan

I would rather the team play in either arena with myself having the opportunity to be there to be part of the loudness. I won't be their tonight because I cannot afford the exorbitant price gif the tickets.

The location is fantastic.

- highly visible next to I-35 with 20 million people streaming past it every year
- 5 mins walk to bars and restaurants, eventually will have two more within 1 minute
- will eventually have video boards up on the parking garage creating a Victory Park feel
- closer to student dorms than Ferrell
- greater connection to Waco community
- not hidden in the back of the university where it is only noticed on gameday
- not surrounded by a sea of asphalt

Kim was a great coach for us but really let us down on this argument.

I don't know. I feel like we could have gotten it a little closer to the CRT.

The camera angles are poor. The reason people are complaining is because there are real problems. One can either bury their heads in the sand and pretend there are no problems or complain so something gets done. The stadium is a joke. By July, perhaps not. But at present, it sucks.

It's location in the literal shadow of Clifton Robinson is really strange. It looks like a zoning error currently.

If you're trying to showcase it, yeah, having Clifton Robinson right there isn't ideal. That said, there aren't too many college campuses that have their basketball arena as a "showcase" building. A lot of campuses that I've been to, you can't even tell the basketball arena is a basketball arena until you get inside it. I'm not entirely convinced that there's an advantage for people driving by and being like, "oh, cool, there's Baylor's bball facility."

I drove through Austin in I-35 plenty of times, and never once was I impressed or in awe that the Frank Erwin Center was sitting right there. And before people comment that it was ugly (it absolutely was), I drove through Orlando last week and you pass the Kia Center (home of the Magic) on I-4. It's an attractive building, but it didn't do anything for me. Bottom line, basketball arenas don't inspire awe like football or baseball stadiums, so who cares if they're obstructed?

That's a really clever headline. I hope that one gets submitted when AP awards time rolls around.

In related news...if you remember the AAC in Dallas when it was built you could see it from I-35.

Supposedly Ross Perot Jr and Mark Cuban are bitter enemies. Perot owned all the land around the arena and started putting up parking garages so it blocks the view of AAC from the highway.

Of course it's not Cubans problem anymore as he's not majority owner and a new arena is coming once gambling is legalized.
