I have seats in 212. 5 seats at the end of the row closer to the mid court
3 seats face straight and you have to turn your neck and 2 are angles toward the court… 2 of the seats are angled toward each other and share the same leg space…
How the **** does this happen

The pictures and videos I have seen so far make it look like the viewing angles are bad. Some practically straight down. Not impressed by what I have seen online so far or from the tv view.

We got spoiled at FC where every seat was angled toward center court. So even if you were near the corner you were facing the middle.

Moody Coliseum at SMU is the same shoebox design. Seats are close to the court and face straight ahead, so you have a great line right in front of you, but you have to turn yourself constantly to see the action at the other end.

I learned my lesson when selecting seats from my trip to the Sugar Bowl. I had seats like that for that game and was miserable the whole game. Sorry you have to deal with that… horrible.

Yes!!! Exactly like that…. How does that happen???

All that should have been obvious from the renders. Seating straight up the wall except in lower level. Corner seats etc. The renders said it all. Bad access was also deducible from the plans. Decided I'd watch on TV from here on out.

I'm not sure who decided the pinnacle of basketball arena design was reached during the 1920's and 30's in the upper miid-west, but they were wrong.

I knew it was a lie when I heard all the bigwigs saying "there's not a bad seat in the house". There's bad seats in every 'house', even tiny ones.

I don't think they were the cheapest. They were $600 each

Watching tennis must really suck with all that head turning.

Might I recommend pickle ball? It still requires head turning but with a limited range of motion.

I don't have a problem, but when 2 of the tickets are for people 65+ it would have been nice to know ahead of time, or be transparent in the seat selection process….

Unfortunately most consumers have not only accepted bull**** business tactics, they've embraced them. Universities and pro sports teams -- like airlines -- continue to sacrifice their customers' comfort and ease of access to squeeze seats into places they wouldn't be if customer experience and enjoyment was even a minor priority. It's always about revenue maximization.

The travel, cost and inconvenience of attending live sporting events just isn't worth it for me in most cases. I'd just as soon watch it from the comfort of my own home on TV and enjoy better food/drink at a fraction of the cost.

With your point about your 65+ guests... maybe call Baylor and see if you can move your seats. I am not sure if they will listen, but it is probably worth checking on.

Honestly I think the stadium is genius for this reason. All games are broadcast in increasingly realistic HD and tvs keep getting bigger and cheaper. That isn't going to change. Sitting in your jammies watching a game on a cold night is a great feeling and a great way to watch a game

You want attending a game to be an experience, an event, something unique. Not a replication of what you can get at home watching on tv because they can't compete with that anymore.

Sharing that experience in an intimate setting (such as it is) with a full arena of rowdy and loud Baylor fans is what they are selling. You can't get that at home. And I think it will get students hooked too, which will be awesome.

This is exactly where I think many live events are headed.

That's perfectly fair. It just doesn't appeal to me specifically. I'll get out to the new arena at some point and fully expect to be impressed by the spectacle/atmosphere/experience, but when I go to a game -- any game -- my top priority is the game itself. I never had major issues with Floyd Casey Stadium or the Ferrell Center because both were good places to watch a game, if that was your only concern. The sight lines at both were/are great because both venues were built with that as a major priority.

New stadiums with more "amenities" are neat for the novelty, but I'm not one who is particularly interested in the secondary stuff going on around the game and I'm not going to drop a ton of money on overpriced concessions or apparel -- the availability/variety of which matter little to me.

I think McLane is pretty great. It's still a great place to watch a game. But I would take the old Ballpark in Arlington over Globe Life Field any day. One felt like watching a game in a classic ballpark. The other feels like watching a game in an airplane hanger.

I think those who enjoy going to games for the atmosphere are going to enjoy the newer venues. And that's who they're catering to ... and should. But I just want to watch the game, and generally speaking, I can do that more comfortably and conveniently from home. And it's a much easier decision to make when the cost of these mega venues are passed on to fans by way of exorbitant ticket/parking/concession prices.

Always hard to select seats in a venue you don't know - especially one that is brand new. It was stressful to pick in the time allotment - watching seats disappear before your eyes. We will all live and learn where we want to sit and not sit. I understand it's difficult and frustrating when you purchase for the season. My husband bought Rangers tickets in MSG in New York when we were there for Thanksgiving. We've been there several times. Seats were very expensive for the game so he bought cheaper seats behind goals up high. They were so bad we finally just had to laugh - as not to cry. Here was my view from seat. Also including a picture of my daughter looking down from the ring above. Restroom line and Concession stand were directly behind us and we were in full concourse light the entire game.
As far as Foster Pavillion, you often do your best to build something incredible - but, no matter how nice, there will always be unfortunate surprises that you wish you could change. I've learned that building houses. I'm sorry for those who are disappointed with their seats. Overall, the Pavillion is so extremely nice and I am thankful for those who have invested so much time and effort into getting it built. I know they so desperately wanted fans to love everything about it.

I share your disappointment, as I too got screwed at "Turn 3."

Screw all the people making fun of your predicament. You're not asking for a massage chair or something frivolous. These are absolutely legitimate gripes.

I happened to have a heavy-set lady sitting right at the turn. To say there was no legroom in an already tiny aisle would be an understatement. It's probably a good thing we don't sell beer because there are going to be some accidents navigating extremely tight quarters.

To have zero bathrooms or concessions on the upper level is astounding. It doesn't affect me, but I also feel for the seniors who were priced out of lower level seating and have no choice but to navigate the stairs or wait 15 minutes for an elevator.

Will do. And I'm pretty sure I acknowledged that they weren't catering to me and shouldn't, so you can take your sanctimony elsewhere.

It's 2024. Most folks have finally learned they have no obligation whatsoever to pay ever-rising prices to do things that are inconvenient, stressful or unenjoyable. I love Baylor University, and following select sports teams has been a lifelong passion of mine. But at the end of the day this is an entertainment product like any other and I'll unapologetically treat and enjoy it as such.

Ignoring a work schedule that makes attending out-of-town events of all types difficult, a trip to Waco is a six-hour round trip drive for me and requires me to either take my two children or miss whatever they've got going on at home at the time. I'm not going to be bullied or pressured into dropping hundreds of dollars to do something that is often a giant hassle, when I get just as much enjoyment and a more complete view of the game watching it on TV. I'll attend one-off games here and there because it's fun to do from time to time. But I'll never feel obligated to do so.

Those who prefer attending games in person, like my dad and brother, should absolutely do so. I'll never discourage anyone from spending their own time or money how they choose to as long as it's within the bounds of what's legal and ethical. But I'm also not going to listen to others tell me how I should or should not spend mine.

I attend literally hundreds of sporting events a year for my work. I'm going to watch and enjoy Baylor's how I choose.
