So much talent. So little shot making.

Damn .I guess we're lucky we're not 5-8 instead of 11-2.

Unless this is your first game.
Sometimes the ball don't go through the hoop. Nothing you can do.
5 turnovers and holding a Big 12 team to 60 in regulation is very very good. Those are 2 things you can control when shots aren't following.
You must not know much about basketball. Poor shooting nights happen to every team. We still gutted out a tough conference road win.JP1037 said:Stefano DiMera said:

20 year season ticket holder. OSU is not good. We are better than this but can't hit a shot. Frustrating. But you be you.
Just glad we got the win.

So frustrating. I hate winning on the road in the Big 12. I also really hate having the top 3 pt shooting team in the country. Why can't we just make every shot???
I'm not the one who made a separate thread to whine about how this team is so frustrating. If you're just talking about this one game, then say that in the game thread. Don't be a petulant child and post a "look at me!" thread. All it does is make you look foolish.JP1037 said:Mitch Henessey said:

Good grief you are a child. I expect better than 2-15 and I bet Drew does too. Guarantee like me he is happy we won but frustrated with that performance.

We led the nation in 3-point percentage coming into today's game and were third in overall offensive efficiency.JP1037 said:

....or of effort.....or an indication that the team is (drum roll for the lamest fan complaint) "flat".EvilTroyAndAbed said:JP1037 said:Mitch Henessey said:

The "performance" besides outside shooting was exceptional. Sometimes the ball doesn't go in the hole. It's not because of poor performance.

Yeah, and after that game, we had a bunch of dum dums on this board talking about how poor of a shooting team we were. We only went out after that and became the best three point shooting team in the country.Fre3dombear said:JP1037 said:Mitch Henessey said:

We went 0fer one night for the first time in 35 years. Coulda been worse
Not even 40 minutes, they start whining and panicking before the first media timeout.Mitch Henessey said:Yeah, and after that game, we had a bunch of dum dums on this board talking about how poor of a shooting team we were. People need to stop making knee-jerk reactions based on 40 minutes of basketball in a 40 game season.
I love Missi and would certainly put him near the top of this team's MVP discussion, but to me, Dennis is our best and most important player because he's the only guy on our roster with a second gear he can go to in clutch time. He's the only player we have who can put the team on his back and will it to a victory.TheBearableVariabl3 said:
good w against a bad opponent. this team has major problems keeping opposing guards out of the lane.
3pt shooting has been up and down. i doubt we finish the year as good as we've started but were definitely better than today. missed lots of open ones.
Missi is the most important player on this team IMO just because it gives our defense a pulse.
I think Bridges might be even more important to us than Dennis or Missi. We would have absolutely nothing to replace what Bridges produces in the rotation if he were to get injured. Bridges is by far our best defender and most efficient offensive player. He is our team X factor. When he is fully dialed in on both ends of the court we are a legit final 4 contender.bear2be2 said:I love Missi and would certainly put him near the top of this team's MVP discussion, but to me, Dennis is our best and most important player because he's the only guy on our roster with a second gear he can go to in clutch time. And he becomes even more important once you take into account how little support he gets at times from guys who were supposed to be impact players -- Nunn in particular, but Love, Dennis and Walter have all disappeared at times too.
Without Dennis, who shows up and produces every single game, we'd have several more losses than we currently do.
Predicting we don't finish the year hitting nearly 1/2 our three pointers while playing in toughest conference in the country by far is really going out on a limb.TheBearableVariabl3 said:

Bridges is an excellent role player in an extremely important role. And as you stated, he's the only guy on our roster currently capable of filling that role. So I agree he's very important to our team's success. But his offensive skill set and relative lack of assertiveness on that end limit his overall value IMO. He's still basically just a catch and shoot/putback guy after four years, which certainly has its utility, but he's not a guy that can be leaned on late in a close game to turn the tide.Crawfoso1973 said:I think Bridges might be even more important to us than Dennis or Missi. There is no "Positive Gestapo." All of the people calling you out have been critical of this team at times. I think you'd do well in the defenses of your post to drop that silly narrative.JP1037 said:
Sorry to the sensitive Positive Gestapo. This team was frustrating to watch yesterday. That was the meaning of the post. I thought that was obvious.
It's a reasonable reaction to that game. If that offends you for some reason I suggest you grow a pair. I understand an off night shooting. Perhaps I just overestimated this teams ability?
I agree. Once again, the moderators told us that we were going to be competing for a Big 12 championship with this fantastic basketball team. The defense has look terrible all year long. However, the defense looked better yesterday, but then again it was against a bad team. There's no way this team is beating Kansas or Houston, and will be lucky to beat Texas and Texas Tech. There absolutely is a positive Gestapo on this board, which just drives me crazy.JP1037 said:
