This dude needs some breaks. Injury after injury is tough to stomach after awhile

According to Scott Drew, Langston Love was "day-to-day before BYU, and he's day-to-day after BYU."

Says he tweaked his ankle, but that the swelling has gone down in the past few days.
Baylor's Langston Love (leg) will be a game-time decision for Monday's game against Texas, per Scott Drew.

Has not played since 2/20.
Averages 11.1 PPG.
With ankle injuries, a lot of times you don't know how it's going to respond until you test it. Love probably felt good and was moving well. There's no way to tell what's too soon sometimes.Crawfoso1973 said:
Relieved it's not a knee, but annoyed he rushed back before the ankle was 100%. Now back to square one with the rehab process. Even if he makes it back this year there's a good chance he won't have time to regain his rhythm.
The Big 12 tournament might be good for that. But it would good to get him on the floor at least one game before that because if we go one and done, that will only be one game before the dance.IowaBear said:
This, I'd rather him have a chance to knock off the rust before the tournament if possible
Talked to #Baylor guard Langston Love about his status for the rest of the @Big12Conference tournament after not playing in the Bears win against Cincinnati.

With our ****ty start epidemic, we need to inject that offense straight into our starting lineup.boognish_bear said:
Well....hope he's back for the tourney and hope he can be an injection of instant offense
Scott Drew was asked if he expects for Langston Love to play in the NCAA tournament

Drew said “that’s the plan”
This is an insanely bad take. He's a great player and a great kid who's had horrific injury luck. It's not a chronic thing, either. Each injury has been completely unrelated.TeamPlayer said:
If he doesn't play next week we need to let this kid leave the program. We've wasted 2 years of his scholarship.

Scott Drew said the hope is Langston Love will play next week: "That’s the plan. I really feel for him, he’s had a tough go at it. He’s a great young man and works really hard. ... The good news is, he’s in good spirits and we’ll see how he does in practice come this week."

Yep. One of the worst takes I've ever seen on this board. And that is saying A LOT.Mitch Henessey said:This is an insanely bad take. He's a great player and a great kid who's had horrific injury luck. It's not a chronic thing, either. Each injury has been completely unrelated.TeamPlayer said:

Exactly. We are a national championship program and need to evaluate talent in order to strive for another one. Obviously Drew knows this and is an expert at this. We love these players, as we should. Both are great people and contribute character to the program.IvanBear said:
But, Drew absolutely needs to recruit and work the portal like Love won't be available next season, because it's almost a sure bet he'll miss significant time as well next year.
Love has played 24 games this year and done so at a very high level. He wasn't a wasted scholarship in any way, shape or form. He just got injured. You're doubling down on a terrible take.TeamPlayer said:Exactly. We are a national championship program and need to evaluate talent in order to strive for another one. Allocating two scholarships this year to Everyday John and Love was the right thing to do and Drew felt it was the best chance for success this season. It didn't work and we wasted both scholarships. That's just the way it worked out.
Every college football program tries to do the same thing at QB and RB where injury risk is high. You have to expect an injury and plan accordingly otherwise it derails your season. That's what we've had to deal with the last 2 basketball seasons.

We'll see how it works out this week. It's not a popular take, I get it. Meanwhile UH's Roberts has his knee drained weekly and plays through pain every single game. Injured his shin again last night and still came out for the 2nd half and sparked a huge run to seal the game.
Mentoring of our bigs? Ojiawuna and Lohner are not good. Compare them to Iowa State and Houston's bigs.
Everyday John is not mentoring Missi, come on.
