Hopefully just a sprain type injury to the other leg. That will be several weeks but would keep him building momentum instead of yet another reset spanning another year. No significant tears/damage would be great

This dude needs some breaks. Injury after injury is tough to stomach after awhile

Looks like the news above about his knee was incorrect… it's still the ankle.

Thanks, good to know. I really hope he can be ready for Kansas/Texas games. Without him we will probably slide in the seedings for the tourney.

Relieved it's not a knee, but annoyed he rushed back before the ankle was 100%. Now back to square one with the rehab process. Even if he makes it back this year there's a good chance he won't have time to regain his rhythm.

Doesn't really tell us much.... if he is going to eventually be able to return it would be great if he could get a couple of games in before the NCAA tourney.

This, I'd rather him have a chance to knock off the rust before the tournament if possible

With ankle injuries, a lot of times you don't know how it's going to respond until you test it. Love probably felt good and was moving well. There's no way to tell what's too soon sometimes.

The Big 12 tournament might be good for that. But it would good to get him on the floor at least one game before that because if we go one and done, that will only be one game before the dance.

Love the way the team kept their composure last night. Just kept to the game plan even though we were down big. Potential is there for a big run and if Langston can come back, could get exciting.

Yeah, I heard about the injury too. It's always nerve-wracking when a player gets hurt, especially after a big win.

Well....hope he's back for the tourney and hope he can be an injection of instant offense

With our ****ty start epidemic, we need to inject that offense straight into our starting lineup.

If he doesn't play next week we need to let this kid leave the program. We've wasted 2 years of his scholarship.

This is an insanely bad take. He's a great player and a great kid who's had horrific injury luck. It's not a chronic thing, either. Each injury has been completely unrelated.

"Let"?

There is no "let". These guys can leave whenever they wish.

Love is an incredibly good player that has battled injuries 3 straight years.

I want him healthy and I want him to stay but, the choice is his.

I agree I want him around I see him starting next year.

But, Drew absolutely needs to recruit and work the portal like Love won't be available next season, because it's almost a sure bet he'll miss significant time as well next year.

Just because it's not the same injury doesn't mean he's not injury prone. For better or worse his body is fragile.

Love has contributed both on and off the court! I'm sure he was held out because at the end of the day, this tournament doesn't matter, the next one does. It was great to see Lohner step up in the last 2 games. Hopefully we will get big contributions from Love and Lohner in the NCAA tournament. That will give us a much better team.

Yep. One of the worst takes I've ever seen on this board. And that is saying A LOT.

That's a really tough recovery for him. It's been 45 days since the injury, if I am counting correctly. He's a tough kid who is working extremely hard to get back. We should all be behind him.

Exactly. We are a national championship program and need to evaluate talent in order to strive for another one. Obviously Drew knows this and is an expert at this. We love these players, as we should. Both are great people and contribute character to the program.

Allocating two scholarships this year to Everyday John and Love was the right thing to do and Drew felt it was the best chance for success this season. It didn't work and we wasted both scholarships. That's just the way it worked out.

Every college football program tries to do the same thing at QB and RB where injury risk is high. You have to expect an injury and plan accordingly otherwise it derails your season. That's what we've had to deal with the last 2 basketball seasons.

You keep digging your hole deeper. The scholarships on EJ and Love were not "wasted." Love has been terrific and would've been the Big 12 6th man of the year before injury. The story is not yet written, he still has a chance to come back in the tournament and pick up where he left off.

As for EJ, he has been instrumental in mentoring our 2 young bigs. Every scholarship player will not play huge minutes during the game, but can help in practice and with intangibles and with team culture. His influence has been immense.

CSD runs a culture of joy and will not run off players. The culture of our program is a big reason why we continue to recruit at such a high level.

Love has played 24 games this year and done so at a very high level. He wasn't a wasted scholarship in any way, shape or form. He just got injured. You're doubling down on a terrible take.

We'll see how it works out this week. It's not a popular take, I get it. Meanwhile UH's Roberts has his knee drained weekly and plays through pain every single game. Injured his shin again last night and still came out for the 2nd half and sparked a huge run to seal the game.

Mentoring of our bigs? Ojiawuna and Lohner are not good. Compare them to Iowa State and Houston's bigs.

Everyday John is not mentoring Missi, come on.

CSD said publicly several weeks ago that EJ is transitioning to a player-coach role. So yes, he is mentoring the young guys. That is not a wasted scholarship .
