So hard to fathom what all of y'all went through in the 70s, 80s and 90s. I know I'm spoiled that my recollection of Baylor basketball is pretty much limited to the Drew era.

This had to have been the the 97-98 team that was really good by our standards back then, going 8-8 in the conference. Should have been an NIT team, but had some headscratcher non con losses.

Skinner, Hunter, Kendrick, Brick, Roddrick Miller, Perkins, Ramirez, Kish Lewis, Gipson, Sellers.

When McCasland would make it into a game during a blowout, the student section would start the "Rudy" chant.

Dreadful? Those 90s teams would crush the mid 80s dredge of Haller I followed as a student.

Those 90s teams coached by Darrell Johnson were our version of run and gun UNLV

I sorta like it when teams that aren't great resort to scuffling. Kinda like the Houston Oilers House of Pain days. They would lose a good amount, but inflicting pain was essential no matter what. They had their priorities straight. As did those Bears teams.

One of the best memories I have was when I was a Freshman in Penland in 1992. A friend of mine down the hall (who later became a walk-on on in the mid-90s) was really excited about upcoming commit Eric Dortch. Dortch was apparently one of our more higher recruits of the past few years, though I don't recall him panning out. I think Miller was the coach that year. In any case another acquaintance of mine told the guy that Eric was down in the Penland lobby and was there to meet him. They said they had told him that he was a really big fan. So my friend rushes down there and there was no Dortch. He comes back to the guys room and says, "Where is Dortch? They said, "I don't know, but your room is now trashed." So his room got trashed and then he proceeded to chase them around Penland for a while.

Another time someone took a dump and placed it in the 4th floor microwave. But that's another story non basketball related.

Those were the days.

Crazy! I was a freshman at Penland in 1992.

I got there around the Harry Miller days. We had a great freshman I think named Banks who legit had NBA potential, but was killed in a car crash I think after his freshman year. He was a wing player in the Paul Pierce mode who I saw take over games with his scoring. Was our only scoring threat and would overcome double and triple teams and still light it up. He was awesome his freshman year.

I think the nickmame for McCasland back then was "rat" if I remember correctly.

Sublett was a dawg. So athletic and slithery.

That was a fun team with Branch and Haggerty

I suffered through the mid 80s as well, but we did have two years of good teams that seemed to come out of nowhere in 86 and 87. Michael Williams and Darrell Middleton were both drafted, and Williams had a decent NBA career. Then the bottom fell out and we were even worse than before.

I remember Middleton and Williams both cruised around in brand new Nissan sports cars. I guess Iba had something figured out.

In the late 60's a second place finish to TCU in a very bad conference was the highlight...............of the entire athletic program.

Imagine watching BU games in the glorified rodeo arena that was HOT Coliseum.

I remember that … I couldn't believe all of the fights that year. I think there was an especially big altercation in college Station that year.

Dana Dane, You missed some of the greatest shows on earth back when the Bears played in the Heart of Texas Colosseum. I loved the smell of manure in the evening.
