All of Auburn's losses are in QUAD 1 games and they're 8-0 against QUAD 2 opponents. And Alabama's resume is similar. The NET rankings reward QUAD 2 wins more than they probably should and really punish QUAD 3 or lower losses. Those with a lot of the former and none of the latter are going to be slightly overrated. BYU is kind of the same way IMO. They're a good team, but I've never quite understood the computers' extreme fascination with them.

Fortunately, the NET rankings don't contain any of the subjective biases that human polls do. Like all power ranking systems, they have their own flaws, but everyone is judged by the same objective standards.

It looks like they reward Q2 wins higher than Q1 wins. That's the only explanation for Alabama's ranking relative to Baylor's.

But if you want to trust computers, be my guest.

Bama with another Quad 1 loss to Florida, and Auburn will get only a Quad 3/Quad 4 win over 0-16 Mizzou.

Wonder if Bama will move up after another Q1 loss, which apparently is more valuable than a Q1 win.

Also, it is interesting that out of the top 20 in NET, 6 teams have losing records against Q1 teams and 3 of them are from the SEC and 2 of them (Alabama and Auburn) have significant losing records. They aren't even competitive with the other Q1 teams.
