Kind of embarrassing for the SEC. Legitimately good basketball conference this year, no smaller schools (i.e. Baylor, TCU) outside of Vanderbilt. But they can't get half their schools to get a decent number for basketball games?

At least one contributing factor is probably the fact that the SEC is top heavy. Unlike the B12 when you get past their ranked teams there is a lot of drop off in the rest of the conference.

On the other hand, what else is there to do in Starkville, Oxford or Columbia?

Baylor is not really a "small school." It is slightly larger than Mississippi State and slightly smaller than Ole Miss. It is almost twice the size as Vandy.

Miss St has about 3000 more undergrads (20%) and Ole Miss about 2000 more (15%). Roughly the same for total enrollment

Baylor is not a small school but it is smaller than most public schools, and probably any in a major conference.
