I do not understand why we agreed to leave the tournament there every single year.

San Antonio every 3-4 years would be incredible.

Good grief, the butthurt in that tweet

KU or KSU have won 13/15 regular season titles in that time span.

Ashley Hodge, like too many here, whines way too much about things like this and officiating. Adjust and overcome.

Excuses and conspiracy theories are the crutches of losers.

I don't care for the tweet, but only gullible fools believe that there's not agendas at work when there's tens of millions on the line. It's the nature of people, always has been always will.

Winners control what they can control. Losers look for external reasons to excuse and explain away their failures.

Wow, really? Generally speaking, people look to explain failure. If the refs screw a team, it's always the losing teams fault. Just stupid logic.

We all know that the tourney is held where it is to make money. We know it's a defacto home court advantage for certain teams. That's not a conspiracy, it's just reality.

what is whiny about the tweet? Just stating facts. Iowa State and Kansas have won 12 of those 14 non covid tournaments. It is in KC until 2031 so it doesn't matter anyway.

More to the point, this year is only the 4th year in the 27-year history of the Big 12 that Kansas has failed to win either a portion or the regular season championship outright, or the tournament championship. Until someone can offer a closer venue where they aren't playing to a half empty arena, the tourney will likely stay in KC.

Suggesting that those teams have reached the finals because there is financial incentive for that to be the case.

It's one thing to express frustration with the homecourt advantage that tournament gives the Midwestern teams. We've all done that. But this reads like conspiratorial nonsense.

We lose in the Big 12 tournament every year because we play like **** in that tournament every year. I saw us do the same thing in person back when it was in Dallas. I'd prefer we focus on improving our play and worry less about outside factors.

fair, for someone who has been to KC almost every year (didn't go this year), I've seen and heard first hand how important it is for KSU, KU and ISU to advance. Not saying it is related to corruption but it has been a financial boon for the city when one of those 3 makes the final game. I know Vegas was considered but KC puts in a bid that is hard to turn down. As long as they get the right teams advancing, the math works.

Still can't shake a memory of going back up to my hotel room after midnight and one of the Iowa State starters mugging down in the elevator with a 50+ year old woman- haha. It's a circus there.

Not as egregious as the Summit League having it in Sioux Falls every year stacking the deck for South Dakota State when you only get one bid. Oral Roberts overcame it a couple of times but it has been South Dakota State or North Dakota State ever other year.

I don't know about the Summit League, but you can count the fans at a lot of those mid-major conference tournaments, including the AAC, which should favor UNT being in Fort Worth. But nobody actually goes to those games, so location really doesn't matter.

The Big 12 is obviously different because the Midwestern schools take over KC every year. It is annoying, but Baylor fans didn't show up when it was in Dallas, so we really can't complain too much.

To Deny it's an enormous advantage for the teams
Within 2 hours drive of there is ludicrous

That said if it was in Dallas or waco we still wouldn't have as many fans there as those schools.

And often it's not like we lost a close in in the semis or finals where a "home" call or two made the difference. We usually just get our doors blown off and randomly someone like Loehner becomes a huge part of what we're doing for the first time all season.

I watch but quit going years ago mainly for those reasons.

Spoken like a loser. We don't make excuses here, winners win. Anything else is a loser conspiracy.

No one denies that location benefits the Midwestern schools. But Baylor fans *****ing about it is a joke.

We've played two Big 12 football championship games less than 90 miles from our campus since 2019 and filled maybe 30 percent of a 70,000-seat venue.

We could play the Big 12 tournament in the Ferrell Center, and we still wouldn't have the homecourt advantage Kansas or Iowa State have in Kansas City because they have more, better and louder fans. Ours just like to *****.

The conference tournament, like the Big 12 football championship, has to be played somewhere. And regardless of where they put it, it will favor some schools over others.

I'm far more concerned with how we play than where we play.
