For schools that missed both the NCAA's Big Dance and the NIT's Sock Hop, they can still play on in the College Basketball Invitational tournament. (It's more like dancing in your parents' front room.)

This year features 15 teams (NOT a typo--Top seed High Point gets a first-round bye)

It all happens in Daytona Beach this weekend. And EVERY team is guaranteed a Participation Trophy!

I don't think I had ever heard of that one. Or if I have I had forgotten about it. I at least knew the CBI existed.

That one was new to me as well.

They've included Tarleton State, Texas Southern, Abilene Christian, and Texas A&M Corpus Christi. So they've definitely got Lone Star Flavor.
