Definitely. And we've been talking about that all year.

The biggest difference is one faces a criminal case and the other a civil suit.

I guess this is just par for the course now? Accused sex offender play with no limitations or repercussions? Next up, work release to play if they are convicted?

In fairness, Illinois tried to suspend him. He didn't play the first six games of the season. But the courts said they had to reinstate him on the basis that the suspension was unlawful/limiting his earning potential.

I will say the courts now running, even micromanaging, college sports is not a welcome change

If a Baylor athlete was accused then all hell would break loose

It's a product of decades and decades of inaction by those in charge of college athletics. This is the present/future the "stewards" of these sports earned.

And Shannon wasn't just accused. He was charged. He's got a hearing set that will determine whether or not the matter goes to trial.

Although you are right about the NCAA, that is not the way courts work. Filling in a power void is not what they are supposed to do.

This is activist judges helping out student athletes or schools or both.

And this is not a political point. Judges of any political persuasion shouldn't be wading into this,
