Coaching scuttle: Former Oklahoma State coach Mike Boynton Jr. is soon expected to join Dusty May's staff at Michigan as an assistant, sources tell @CBSSports. Boynton has other options at the high-major level, but May has put a high priority on Boynton in Year 1 in Ann Arbor.

Bummer, but realistically Drew is highly unlikely to go out of his own tree for the staff reshuffle, for better or worse.

Jakus was a GA at Baylor from 2012 to 2014, prior to Drew recommending him to Few.

Jakus was absolutely in the Drew Coaching "tree." I'm not saying Drew won't look outside of the program to replace Jakus, but I'd be surprised if he looked outside of his general tree and people with no prior basketball experience related to Baylor or one of his former assistants who are now head coaches.
