Halfway through the combine and Stephon Castle is leading in the 3-point shooting star drill, hitting 18/25 shots. For a player who has been criticized for his jumper, it sure looks good to me. pic.twitter.com/iCl4Y2ejZx

40 percent on air isn't something to be super proud of. But it's just one drill.BUCANDOIT82 said:
Walter was still tied for 15th at the combine in the Star 3 point shooting drills.
Missi's free throw percentage improve dramatically as the season wore on. At some point I knew he had the potential to extend his range out to three point territory. Besides the obvious physical gifts, Missi is an absolute sponge with respect to his coachability and basketball IQ. His upside literally has no ceiling.BUCANDOIT82 said:
I don't remember Missi shooting a 3 last season.
It's not a raw athleticism issue because he had one of the highest verticals in this draft class. I'm afraid he's just not as good a shooter as he needs to be for the profile he has. If he's not a plus 3-point shooter, he's not going to last very long in the NBA because he doesn't do anything else exceptionally well. He's got to shoot the ball well.IvanBear said:
He's going to slide in this draft. Hard to say if it's because he's just not athletic enough to play against talent at the same level he does against inferior competition or if it's mental. I would argue shooting 40% from 3 in a drill that is supposedly the strongest part of your game is a major mental lapse.
Old man YMCA hustle (which to his credit he has in spades) isn't going to win you a NBA roster spot when you're not as athletic as the guys you're playing against.
His overall athleticism is below average by NBA standards. Vertical isn't the only measure of athleticism. He lacks short-area quickness and struggles to get around people with his poor handle. His only hope sticking in the league is if he can shoot a high percentage from 3 as a specialist off the bench.bear2be2 said:It's not a raw athleticism issue because he had one of the highest verticals in this draft class. Poor ball-handling isn't an athleticism issue, it's a skill issue. He doesn't have elite quickness by any stretch, but he's reasonably quick and has a knack for drawing fouls off the bounce. But his poor ball-handling negates those attributes to a large degree.Crawfoso1973 said:His overall athleticism is below average by NBA standards. Vertical isn't the only measure of athleticism.
