I remember a couple of weeks ago we had people saying there's no way we are anything less than a 4 or 5. All of the current projections now have us anywhere from 8th to 10th. Hopefully things turn our way soon.

Probably a good thing for this team to get a high seed and be an underdog in the first game.
I'm not quite as dumb as I seem

That would require us to beat a top 30 program

Winning Saturday would help immensely. Beating Tech, Houston (at least once), & Arizona will too. West Virginia too, although they are no longer ranked. It also will help if Arkansas & Cincinnati win more games and become Quad 1 again (Arizona State too).

Currently our NET ranking is 28 and:

Quad 1: 2-6
Quad 2: 3-0
Quad 3: 2-1
Quad 4: 5-0

Assuming this web site is accurate, that is. (I don't understand why Arizona State is Quad 1 & Cincinnati is Quad 2.)

We have plenty of opportunities to build a good resume:
6 Quad 1 games upcoming
4 Quad 2
and only 1 Quad 3

The problem is none of that is likely. This team has shown us nothing to suggest they'll beat KU, Houston or Tech. In fact what they've shown is those are likely beatdowns.
They've also now showed us they can't even be counted on to beat the bad teams is this league (TCU)
I hope I'm wrong here. But the post season looks and feels like a long shot with this team

I love the optimism, historian, but there's nothing that we've done so far that suggests we win any of those games particularly against the upper half. We've basically beaten the bottom of the Big 12 and lost every game to a top half team. The Arkansas team we beat has ended up being the 15th place team in the SEC and it took a clock operator and a miracle heave to beat St. Johns. We can't guard anyone with an inside game, so I figure Dickinson will go off for 30 against us.

The Arizona St win continues at Quad 1 because we beat them in Arizona and they are Top 75 in Net. The Cincinnati win is a Quad 2 because we beat them at home and they are not a Top 30 Net.

Quad 1 = Win at home against a Top 30 Net, Win on Neutral vs Top 50; Win Away against Top 75.
Quad 2 = Win at home against Net 31-75; Win on Neutral vs. 51-100; Win Away against Net 76-135.

Unfortunately, that's true. And it seems unlikely that we will beat any of the top teams with such a thin bench. But I can hope. If we were to attribute most of the problems yesterday to the altitude then we have more room for optimism. Yet, the problems yesterday are the same ones we've seen in all the big games. They were more pronounced, though. I'm not expecting Love to be back enough to matter much. Maybe Roach will return Saturday and for the rest of the season. I suspect that is what Drew was planning all along: keep him healthy as long as possible and don't make any unnecessary risks.

The last time we lost to Kansas in Waco was 2020 and we came very close. If Jared Bugler had made that buzzer beater it would have been epic. Despite the loss, it was a great game.

Maybe I'm grasping at straws.

Kansas isn't setting the world on fire this year with their roster, either. They are over-ranked at #11.

Do you "Hope you're wrong?" Because you seem to thrive on any Baylor Athletic shortfalls.

No im realistic, you're not. Of course I hope I'm wrong. Nothing in that statement was inaccurate. I described this team perfectly. You're just to dumb to see it. And when I am wrong I come on here and willingly eat crow. Something you're too big of a coward to do. You're wrong weekly… yet seem to disappear instead of facing the music.

Just because I don't exaggerate on your level doesn't mean I hope Baylor loses. We're 20 games in and you still think this team is a title contender. Your act is pretty simple. You make long shot assertions with the hope of hitting one so you can brag. And when they ultimately fail like usual you hide
