Do we have any info on the extent of VJ's injury?
Baylor's VJ Edgecombe has been diagnosed with an ankle injury and currently has no timetable for a return, per a school spokesman.

Averages 14.9 PPG.
Left Saturday's game against Kansas early.
We started the season with eight or nine playable players, one of which already had an extensive injury history. We didn't leave ourselves much margin for error.boognish_bear said:

Yeah, his game is so reliant on his quickness and athleticism that he'd lose a lot of what makes him special playing at half-strength.Big12Fan2024 said:
If you look at the video of him hobbling around with just the taped ankle after the game, there's almost no way he can play effectively on that for at least 5-10 days at the soonest. Even with cushioned wraps, his ability to push off from the ground and leap or to make lateral cutting movements will likely be rendered ineffective and those are the primary basis for his entire game.
He rolled his ankle pretty good on that awkward take to the rim.Crawfoso1973 said:
Anyone see how he hurt it or know the extent of it?
We have zero shot of making the tournament if this is a multi-week thing. In the short term 2 of our next 3 games are @ Texas Tech and @ Houston. We have no chance in those 2 games without VJ.
You think he's out for the season?bear2be2 said:He rolled his ankle pretty good on that awkward take to the rim.Crawfoso1973 said:

It didn't look horrible, but you could see both where the injury occurred and that it was really painful.
I doubt it. It didn't look like he broke it or anything. It looked like a pretty normal twist or sprain.ScottS said:You think he's out for the season?bear2be2 said:He rolled his ankle pretty good on that awkward take to the rim.Crawfoso1973 said:

Scott Drew's update on VJ Edgecombe's ankle injury:
— Baylor Bears on SicEm365 (@SicEm365) February 3, 2025
“VJ will be back when he can be back because he cares about his team. He wants to win, so his intentions are always pure.”
Edgecombe had 14 points and five rebounds before exiting in the second half against Kansas.#SicEm🐻 pic.twitter.com/rn8Y5G7YBt
He will. It will convert to the usual "game time decision" we've seen with Akinjo, Cryer, Love, Roach and many others soon.EvilTroyAndAbed said:
He will be back when he can be back….if you don't want to tell us anything, come up with something better than that.

It's 100% a swing at LL and Roach. It's pretty clear Drew is frustrated at this point especially concerning Langston.
