He's a poor shooting version of Adam Flagler. Not the special talent or leader we hoped he would be.

Nice to see him have a good game. Would also be nice to see him be a difference maker against a non-bottom feeder not named St. John's - especially given the $NIL he's banking.

That game is Tuesday. TCU is a bad team. But Tuesday is more an nCAA big most likely. No chance of beating Houston. So this is for all the marbles

I don't follow the comparison. Describing him as a Flagler without the shooting is like calling someone a Rembrandt, who doesn't paint.

He has been huge bust but last night gave me a glimmer of hope he can help us. I think 6th man role suits him best. Bring him off the bench and let him aggressively attack the paint like he did yesterday. That opens up the floor for himself and others.

While Roach hasn't been the team carrying superstar that I think he may have been brought in to be, he provides an interesting study. His numbers were actually pretty good pre-concussions, although it was evident then he really wasn't a game changing point guard. He is/was/will be best as a #2. His post concussion stats and overall play and seemingly on-court attitude for awhile there seemed pretty bad. Then, the last couple of games we've seen a version of Roach that at least looks much more like the early season version. (Offensively; defensively he's been pretty marginal all year)

All of this makes me wonder about the impact of the two concussions. Was the head trauma perhaps more than the medical professionals or even Roach himself realized or the recovery period longer than anticipated? Could he just now be getting close to being 100% and that explains the performance gains the past 2 games? I'm hoping what we've seen the past 2 games continues to grow. We certainly need it from him.

He seemed to be moving and reacting much better yesterday. Jeremy is a good, complimentary player, but was never the best player on the court for Duke. I am often amazed at the hype we tend to give new players coming in.

All thoughts worth consideration. Impossible to know the impact of q head trauma from Sitting in the stands or even on the bench.

Regardless, new opportunities open up if this is how he plays from now till the last buzzer.

Roach has been a conundrum for me. At times, it seems that he may have worried about team continuity to his own detriment. Like he wanted to make sure he fit in properly without disrupting team chemistry. The times he does play well he just forgets about all that and takes it upon himself and scores. It's like he is often too unselfish. Maybe selfishness is the answer to our problems.
