The timing is strange. You would think as a potential hot commodity he'd want to get in from the beginning when everyone's NIL bags were full.

I'm more mad at Drew. This isn't happening to other teams, no one loses their entire roster and most important pieces. This is completely indefensible from a coaching perspective.

But cool we'll get another 5 star next year. The word on the street has to be come to baylor to try and look good for the next level not learn to be a better player.

Yeah I'm hanging onto FB until this starts happening with the FB program (inevitable) but I'm out on BB. There's zero returning players. Zero structure with the NCAAS. Tampering clear as ****ing day. And zero resolution. I won't be shocked if Drew retires soon

This kind of thing has to be very frustrating for Scott Drew. Maybe another reason to recruit some good players who aren't 5 stars but would be more likely to stay with your program for several years.

Unfortunately… I'm a Mavericks fan. So the two basketball teams I pull for are no longer something to look forward to.

Lifelong Pistons fan. Usually I end each season embarrassed. Tides are turning on that front. My baseball team is a perennial loser. So I'll be waiting untilL season kicks off

Why on earth would you even want him back?? **** Rob Wright. Dude was given the keys to the team. Drew and Staff turned away multiple high level transfers for him and he STILL left. I don't care how petty I sound. I hope he faceplants

This one is disappointing, but not different than other schools are experiencing. These players are being hounded for the grass being greener, and certainly the $s being larger at other locations. It is sad to see him go. I think he would have been a really good player if he stayed. But, if you haven't learned it yet, you should figure out quickly to cheer for the uniform and don't get attached to the players.

The bottom has fallen out. Drew has a rebuild like he just got hired by a school that fired their coach, and he's not defending his players from tampering.

This is different… most schools are losing their entire roster… I don't blame RW departing on Drew. But something has to change drastically regarding who they recruit. Something is off that's painfully obvious

I hear you but they knew based on the terrible roster planning of the staff they had massive leverage. They should have fielded all calls and worked through earlier, I agree. Not how I do business but the culture failed.

I don't "want" dudes like that but this is business. They got played for a fool and it's their fault. The program put themselves in this situation.

This is how I feel Iowa. Year to year roster construction is just horrible for the game and for the kids. It was already hard to be a college coach with all the demands of recruiting 2-4 new players, now you have to do it every year for the whole team.
And ya, forget Wright, I have to believe that Drew was doing everything possible to keep him on the team. I would not be surprised to see him go to St John's to be closer to home.
We have so much talent in Texas now that I don't think shopping for kids all over the country is not needed as much as it was 15-20 years ago.
Just rambling at this point. I am just soured as all get out about this situation. Just sucks for our team. I am a die hard Baylor fan, and have spent a boat load of resources following the team. I have watched 90 percent of the games in the last 30 years.
I was more excited about the year we got Jerrells, Dugat, and Rogers in that recruiting class than I am about next year. Just give me some under rated guys I can get excited about cheering for, and hope they stay for 3-4 years.

Our recruiting style attracts soft, entitled players.

I don't disagree with that. I'm as critical as anyone in regarding to recruiting/roster construction. Part of that is Drew's personality. He's soft (not dissing him) but that typically rubs off on these types of recruits.
