Reading that makes me desire even more to see Tounde or Cam Carr absolutely posterize Rob Wright on a dunk when he comes to Waco in February.

Drew's getting back to the "get old, stay old" model.

Got moneywhipped in the portal, it appears (with our recent departures) -- but it may end up being a good thing in the long run. We're almost certainly getting the better end of the Cincy "trade" (Skillings > Celestine).

P.S: Brother, that Jason Smith fella works his a$$ off! Kudos to him and his work ethic!

I think the most noteworthy detail is the emphasis on getting bigger. Lately, CSD has preferred relatively smaller guards who are absolute assassins offensively. More size in the backcourt for defense will probably require a trade off on the offensive end.

The evolution in this direction has been kind obvious in both the college and pro game. Guards under 6'4" simply are not being drafted in the first round with any kind of frequency any more and San Diego St., in particular, a few years ago with their deep run built on oversized, less "skilled" players was an eye opener.

The purist in me loves the way the national championship team played. The style was so pleasing to watch. But one of the cool things about having CSD for over 20 years is how we have gotten to watch him evolve with the times. His early rosters were like an Art Briles offense, just oozing athleticism and skill (I haven't forgotten you Henry Dugat!). Then came those massive NBA-sized teams in the early 2010s.

Then the transfer heavy, pure shooting teams.

Now I am excited to see this next evolution. Kinda like watching Steve Spurrier go from Fun 'n Gun in Gainesville to ball possession, run heavy, defense first in South Carolina.

In CSD we trust!
