Yep. Even back in November when I was calculating where I thought we'd be in conference, I always gave us 1 win against the Power 5 (Arizona, Iowa St, Houston, BYU and Tech) because Scott is always good for winning at least one big game we are expected to lose and then we needed to hold serve well against all the other teams in the 6th to 16th spots. That's easier said than done because there is such a fine line between all those teams.

Either way, we picked up our 2nd Quad 1 win. That's the greatest thing about the Big 12. You have plenty of chances to get Quad 1 wins.

Williams staying aggressive and penetrating is the key to this offense. He's really the only one who can do it consistently, and it opens up the court for 3's and offensive rebounding - as he typically draws a second defender after he clears his defender.

Defense still needs much improvement but I'm glad we finally get a W in conference. I hope this will spark something special in Fridays's game.

Love seeing a conference W. Shot the lights out of the building. Defense needs to improve or we will need to shoot like that many many more times this season.

The last time Baylor started 0-3 in conference before this season was the 2022-23 seasonthey dropped their first three Big 12 games to Iowa State, TCU, and Kansas State, but still finished strong with an eleven-seven conference record and made the tournament.

If Drew were to repeat that with this group, it might be his best coaching job to date.

I think that's a really unlikely scenario, though. It's more likely IMO that this bunch is a bubble team in the best case scenario. I hope they prove my wrong, though.

Agreed, this would easily be one of Drew's top coaching jobs in his career if Baylor gets into the tourney and wins a game. Minus the TCU game, Coach Drew has these guys looking pretty good in conference play, all things considered. Especially accounting for the 100% roster turnover from last year and the injuries this year. Not having a defensive anchor in the paint has really shown itself as a weakspot for Baylor this year, and Nnaji certainly hasn't filled in that gap the way we all hoped he would. If we can get Skillings and Rataj healthy, along with Yessoufou and Nnaji acclimated to college ball, and some more cohesion between the guys (all of which should come with time, the more they play together), they have a legit shot at making the tournament. If not, we're probably looking at a fringe bubble team, or the first Baylor team not to make the tourney since 2018. I could really see it going either way.

Nnaji has definitely not looked like what I was hoping for but it's still very early. He needs a full off season of conditioning and finding the right spots to be for screen and rolls. The surprising thing is his defense is really poor. He is fouling at a really high clip for the time he is on the floor. We need him to be able to stay on the floor for longer than 7-8 minutes a game. Unfortunately the offense will struggle when he is in the game for a bit.

What jumps out to me is how Baylor jumped out to early leads against both Iowa State and Houston. Maybe just a blip, but it suggests to me that Drew had a good scheme which, when the team gels, can lead to some solid wins. We need to be aggressive, smart and coordinated.

We have the aggressive down, and last night showed us some possibilities.

All I know for sure is that I trust Drew, and last night was fun. More, please.
That which does not kill me, will try again and get nastier

Deeper bench, less tired legs towards the end of the game. Any word on JJ's return?
