Yeah, we need to start looking competent against good teams for this recent improvement to be real. But it's nice to see that we're capable of looking like a real basketball team at times.

I'm most encouraged by the defense the last two games. That's a potentially sustainable way to stay in the games that were blowouts earlier in Big 12 play.

Still makes me sick we weren't able to take at least 1 from TCU. Just have a bad feeling that sweep is gonna come back and bite us in the end.

The TCU and Cincinnati games were all bad. We couldn't defend their bad offenses well enough to even stay in those games.

Fortunately, that changed at West Virginia -- which is what those other games should have looked like.

Drew always wins 1 game I think he has no chance of winning each year. I don't think we can hang with Houston or Arizona or Iowa St in Ames, but I'm keeping my eye on that BYU game. I would love if we pulled the upset in that game.

It would be great if we could beat one of BYU or Louisville. We need a signature win somewhere to feel like we have a chance to climb back into the NCAA tournament discussion.

Yep...not at least splitting that feels significant.

Like missing an early PAT in a football game...always seems to come back to haunt you.

Yep...not at least splitting that feels significant.

Honestly, going 0-3 against TCU and Cincinnati probably sealed our tournament fate.

Looking at our schedule, I think our ceiling is probably a 7-11 Big 12 record at this point. And that won't be enough to get us in.

Felt like we had a shot to at least get 1 of those back by winning at Cincinnati, but like bear2 said we pulled a dud there too unfortunately. That dug the hole even deeper although now back to back games starting to work our way back up.

We're going to have to steal one somewhere. I think we match up well with UCF, so I'm not penciling that one in as a loss -- even on the road. But a win over any of Iowa State, BYU, Arizona or Houston would take a better game than we've played all year to date.

He's likely going to be a really good NBA player. He's just really raw right now.

You see the flashes, he's just frustratingly inconsistent and does a lot of dumb things between the magic.

I have a question for you older guys. If student turnout is bad at a game like this in an arena beside campus, what was student turnout like for games at the Heart O Texas Coliseum in years where we weren't any good since it was miles away from campus?

During my student years in the 70s we were never better than mediocre at best, but the student turn out was usually at least decent. My sophomore year we actually played home games at the old Mars McLean Gym because of roof damage at the HOT Coliseum caused by a tornado.

Impressive performance physically tonight but just as impressive of a performance mentally. It would have been easy in a game this much of a blowout to go into a lull and let an opponent close the gap, but here we are 13 minutes deep into the 2nd half and we've widened the gap since halftime instead.
