Baylor head basketball coach Scott Drew has dipped into the transfer well once again, this time adding guard Adam Flagler of Presbyterian College. Flagler, a freshman in 2018-2019, will sit out the 2019-2020 season to meet NCAA transfer requirements and have three years of eligibilty remaining to compete for the Bears.

Baylor also welcomed the addition of UNLV transfer big  Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua earlier in the day on Monday.

The 6-foot-3, 170-pounder averaged 15.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists playing off the ball as a true freshman in his first collegiate season. Flagler shot 38.2 percent from three and connected on 83.5 percent of his free throws. He made 105 three pointers on the season.

Flagler chose Baylor as his ultimate destination over Butler, Seton Hall and Appalachian State.

A native of Duluth, Georgia, Flagler left Duluth High School as the all-time leading scorer (1,300 pts) and all-time three-point shooter (227). In 2018 he was first in the league in scoring (16.8 ppg), free throw percentage (82%), and three-pointers (2.8 pg).

In games against top programs Marquette, UCLA, Butler and Dayton, Flagler averaged 20.5 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting 18-of-40 (45%) from three, including a 29 point, six rebound performance on 7-of-14 shooting from deep against UCLA.

Good pickup, but we need to step up our game on recruiting trail if we want to keep up with other Big12 teams. Several are recruiting better than usual. Texas Tech is at #12 and in running to pickup another 5-Star.
How is signing these two guys not "stepping up our game" on the recruiting trail?

It's not "stepping up our game" unless we are doing something more than what we've done in the past. We've always been good at getting transfers, but our competition is now picking up better transfers, not to mention 4 and 5 Star recruits. Again, we better step up our game if we want to keep up.

Really? He clearly explained his reasoning, which is completely valid. The ceilings on highly ranked recruits is much higher than ceilings of diamonds in the rough, granted this staff has done a nice job of developing those players.
