I get that the tournament is all that matters but what a kick in the nuts.

Yeah, how absurd. Just because we haven't won one in going on 71 straight seasons shouldn't make anyone feel just a tad bit pessimistic.rudylaw said:

"Demeaning reading". Good God, get a grip dude.Porteroso said:rudylaw said:

Demeaning reading because you want to demean a person has got to be one of the stupidest things I've ever read on the internet.
Only been a B12 since 1996 and we've only been truly competitive for 11 years but do go on. Wouldn't want to brighten your cloudy day.Johnny Bear said:Yeah, how absurd. OK, so if you believe we will never ever ever win the B12, why do you stick around? I think that's a fair question. If you can't see what's building here this season, and next year has the potential to be even better, I don't know what to tell you. This loss sucks immensely but we're 25-3 and a 1 seed. Brush it off and move on to Monday.BearTruth13 said:rudylaw said:Only been a B12 since 1996 and we've only been truly competitive for 11 years but do go on. Even our best teams have never finished closer than 2 games behind Kansas. Even our Elite Eight teams weren't close to winning it.
Maybe it will eventually happen but we rarely even finish in 3rd place.

We haven't been in the Big 12 for 71 years and have only relatively recently started investing in men's basketball the way you need to compete an elite level. If Texas Tech could win a title last year, there's no reason we couldn't at some point.Johnny Bear said:Yeah, how absurd. Kansas is on pace for its best conference record since the Big 12 went to a double round robin format. It may take a 17-1 record to claim an outright title this year. This was only a great opportunity because we're really damn good this year.BearTruth13 said:rudylaw said:OK, so if you believe we will never ever ever win the B12, why do you stick around? I'll be at the game Monday (driving up from Houston) cheering louder than you.
This game has potentially hurt our #1 seed. Can't lose another one.
Sorry for expressing severe disappointment. This year was a great opportunity to take the Big 12 title. Best we have had since we entered the league. And we couldn't pull it off.
Hope we make the Final Four. But I need to stop hoping to win the Big 12. Probably not going to happen.

Not holding my breath. NCAA has let many blue bloods of the hook. IMO, NCAA knows who butters their bread, and the butter is called "Blue Blood." My question is, will the investigation be completed by 2030?rudylaw said:
Lest we forget the FBI correction forthcoming. KU will finally have to pay for cheating to get their status all these years. They'll have to play on the same court as the rest of the league for once.

Win the remaining games and get to the Big 12 Tourney Final and #1 seed should hold. Otherwise, #2 or #3 seed around the corner. Would have rather lost to TT instead of TCU. Our season has been one for the BU record book and we still can add a few more paragraphs before seasons end.rudylaw said:OK, so if you believe we will never ever ever win the B12, why do you stick around? You don't want to ever take Kansas down? 2nd place is always good enough? Loser mentality that is pervasive in our fan base. Pretty pathetic.
Is that end of regular season or after the Tourney in KC?BearTruth13 said:bear2be2 said:Beat me to it.rudylaw said:Only been a B12 since 1996 and we've only been truly competitive for 11 years but do go on. We are also the only team that has been in the conference since its inception to not win one.
Kansas - 18
Texas - 3
K State - 2
Iowa State - 2
Oklahoma - 1
Oklahoma St - 1
Tech - 1

No we didn't. At absolute worst, we're the third overall 1 seed. We're so far ahead of SDSU and Dayton, we can absorb another loss too as long as it's not to KSU or someone in the first round.IowaBear said:
Yes they did . Can they get it back yes. The hometown is kicking in if you don't think this hurts! The bears will be lucky to go 1-1 this week the way they're playing
