If we weren't on a bit of a down swing momentum-wise, I think we'd probably be best off losing our first Big 12 tournament game and resting up for the NCAA tournament. We've got way too many people either out or playing at less than full strength to do serious damage right now.

But you don't want to go into the tournament with four losses in your last six games either.

It's a tough spot to find yourself in after the season we've had.

46 points is LAUGHABLE. This team needs to wake up or they're 1 an done in both tourneys

Guys, we are not a top 10 team. No.1 seed likely gone. So many mistakes, can't shoot, too much one on one which means not running an offense. I don't understand what happened to this team so all I can say is that there they regressed AT TH WRONG TIME!
LOL. No top 10 team ever loses to a good team on the road. We are banged up and got a bad whistle today. Our resume says we are a top 10 team.

Really disappointed in how the team has ended the season.

We're a top-10 team by every objective measure. Losing makes clowns of fans.

Nothing like going almost 10 minutes without a basket.

Drew needs some go to buckets types of plays to reset the momentum. Should give the guys 3 days off rest.

WVU is one of the best defenses in the country. You do realize that right? If not, I put the defensive efficiency ratings at the top of this thread.

^ our resume may say that, our play the last 5 indicates otherwise. WV is not that good. They're ranked #321 in shooting percentage. It's excuses at this point. The team has performed bad late in the season.

Agree 100 percent. Tired legs. Move to Zone. Make a 321 team beat you from the outside.

I really wish we could get a straight answer as to what's going on with Clark. Guys come back from an ACL stronger in this amount of time.

Fans often struggle with the fact that there are two teams on the court/field full of scholarship athletes that are both trying to win the game. Both have an impact on the outcome.

Let me restate that in a different way. A top 10 team we ARE NOT. Doesn't matter about your metric. I'm talking right now right this minute.

West Virginia will be 14-2 on their home floor after today. There are far more factors playing into this outcome than their season-long field goal percentage.
IowaBear

^ BINGO. We can play the foul trouble, the injured players card all we want. Every team is banged up this time of the year. We had long scoring droughts and missed free throws. Idk how anyone can look at this current team and think we're a 1 seed

Not all guys. Every recovery is different, and Clark is clearly struggling with his. The dude needs the offseason badly.

Keeping making excuses bear2be. You are the clown if you think this looks like a top 10 team. WV has lost 6 of last 8. KU didn't have a problem with them and I thought we were supposes to be as good as KU this year. Stop the sunshine pumping.
Big_Pumpin

Don't worry about it Bears. WVU is a very good defensive team. Your goal of winning the Big 12 wasn't that big of deal. You'll still get a #1 seed, which is really cool.

Take WV away from home and they look like crap. Hope we heal up cause otherwise I'm concerned with our 2nd round matchup in the Big Dance.

KU did have a problem with them. The Jayhawks trailed for two-thirds of the game and it was tied with five minutes left. WVU just went on a big scoring drought to end the game.

WVU is a good team that has struggled mightily on the road. They've been a different team at home all year.

We didn't play very well today, but there were a lot of factors in that. And West Virginia's play on the defensive end was a big one.

This is our second true road loss, so we're 8-2 now.

You might want to rethink that #1 seed crap. The only reason we might get it is the overall body of work, but you cannot possibly tell me this team looks like a 1 seed and maybe not a 2 seed. I'm not saying they cannot get it done, but this is not the way you want to finish. It's not so much the loss but the WAY we have lost to TCU and WVU. They were both very very ugly to watch.

^ 7-2, lost that last 2. I'm talking about the Bears of late. This isn't the same team from January not even close. This team is gonna pull a Virginia and bow out to a 16 because they cannot score the rock to save their lives

My point is that his wasn't even an ACL. Supposedly a meniscus. It just doesn't track. It's not normal, but we've been given no explanation.

Totally agree with this. Honestly, they look pathetic. If I had watched them for the 1st time this year today, I would think they around a .500 team.

Teams are judged exclusively on their overall body of work at tournament time. I don't know why you think we shouldn't be.

Gave up 76 to a sub 300 offense. Oh well onto KC sure hope we don't bow out to the seed in the quarters

Why do we deserve an explanation? We know he hurt his knee and that he's struggled in his recovery from the surgery. Nothing else really matters.

Dude, give it a rest. They scored 76 because we spent the last three minutes of the game pressing and fouling.

Complain about our offense all you want, but until we got into foul trouble down low, our defense was excellent.

Beginning to think he's EGOT but a different screen name.

Tough loss, but it is a tough place to win, some bad calls and injuries. Time to rest up some, regroup, and get ready for the Big 12 Tournament. I believe if there is one coach that can do that, it is for sure Drew. Sic 'Em!

No reason to sugarcoat this one. Outcoached, outhustled, outplayed in this game. Always thought Morgantown was gonna be a difficult place to win, but our play over the past couple of weeks outside a gimme game at home against a horrific K State team has finally caused me to raise the Concerned flag. Still not ready to throw up the Panic flag yet, but we're just not clicking in several areas the way were earlier in the year. Sure hope we didn't peak at the wrong time. Injuries explain some of this, but it's not the only reason. Maybe some of it is just that conference teams always know you better than anyone else. I hope that's the reason. We'll soon find out I guess.
