It was more than just looking at the stat line.
They didn't create a large presence in the paint on the defensive side which is what they need to do this year. UL's 6'11 big went 9-9 from the field (22 points) with 8 boards. Maybe he's had a great off-season but he only averaged 4 points and 3 boards a year ago playing for Portland in the WCC.
On top of that they were weak in their help defense against UL's guards. It was game one so nothing to be doom and gloom about, but there is a lot to fix like always.
