I don't know why, but I've always liked the look of the Oregon Court

Thank goodness Twitter wasn't around when we had the court with the giant bear "breaking through" the wood at center court and kelly green trim.

Same. Frankly, I think people can be a bit too purist when it comes to basketball courts. A little variety is the spice of life. There is just so much real estate on the court to do something unique and interesting. It's great if someone can flip on tv, see the court, and know your team is playing.

What's wrong with Duke's court? You know who plays there immediately. The purpose of the court is to hold the stipes and keep the players from falling through. Anything else is, frankly, superfluous.

I'm unsure whether it would be worse to be a player or a fan with this court.

Any pictures of that out there that can be posted? I remember it

I'd like to see photos of Baylor's courts over the years... not that any of them would make a "worst" list.

FIU has to be the worst. I don't know how players can tell what is inbounds within that "water/beach" section at the top of the court.

It's too busy.

I like a clean look. Oregon's court look like it needs to be swept.

Studying can be both rewarding and challenging. It's the path to gaining knowledge and developing essential skills, but it's not always a smooth journey. Personally, I've encountered difficulties in various aspects of my studies, particularly when it comes to informational writing. To enhance my skills and boost my grades, I turned to StoryboardThat's resources. Their "when to talk to an adult" worksheets have been a game-changer for me. These worksheets provide valuable insights into informational writing and have significantly improved my assignments and essays. If you're looking to excel in informational writing and various other study areas, I highly recommend exploring the extensive collection of worksheets and resources on StoryboardThat. You can try it now here. They've made a remarkable difference in my academic journey, and I believe they can do the same for you. Happy studying!
When it comes to college basketball courts, there are some gems and then there are some that leave a lot to be desired. Let's talk about the "Top 4 Worst College Courts," shall we? First up, we have the "Eyesore Arena." It's almost as if the designers wanted to test just how many different shades of neon they could fit into a single court. The result? A visual assault that's hard on the eyes and probably gives the players a headache. Then, we've got "Giant Mascot Madness." This court takes the whole "mascot in the spotlight" idea a bit too far. The center court is a massive, creepy mascot face. Sure, it's unique, but it's also nightmare-inducing. Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and some might argue that these courts have their unique charm. But when it comes to the worst college courts, these four certainly make the list. Do you agree, or do you have other contenders in mind?

Oregon & TCU certainly belong on that list: both are ugly and annoying to the point of distracting from the game. The Pokes court itself is OK but the terrible camera angle gif TV broadcasts takes getting used to. I guess it's the old architectural dilemma: form vs function.

Oregon's court looks like it would be distracting to play on.

Remember this monstrosity? Looks like it was designed by an 80 year old man with ADD

I am not a purist, but anything which distracts from the game itself is unseemly. That includes "too much" in the way of on-court decorations, in the demeanor and behavior of officials who yield to the temptation to make the game as much about themselves as it is about the players, and even coaches, whose sideline behavior plays into the current habit of making the coach the center of attention. When a coach leaves the bench it should mean something, but now coaches at every level march up and down the sideline without regard for the coaches box, and their antics are part of the entertainment. Needless to say, the old school preference for understatement has long been in disfavor, and those who practice it are held up to scorn by many of their own fans.

I saw a Texas high school football game some years ago where the coach of one of the teams walked more than five yards out on to the field after every offensive play to confer with his QB, who trotted over to meet with him. I did not know that that was legal, but it apparently was. I thought, probably unfairly, that it was ego on the part of the coach, as there were other ways to communicate from the sidelines that did not require such visibility and intrusiveness into the arena of play.

For decades I intensely disliked Eddie Sutton, who when he was not whining to the officials, was berating and bullying them. Now a good portion of basketball coaches "work the officials" in ways not too dissimilar from Sutton. When it is disproportionate, I find it does affect my enjoyment of the game

.I didn't like it back then, and I don't care for it now.

I suppose it is a matter of taste.

Your distaste for Eddie Sutton was well placed. Saw him around Edmond/OKC from time to time and know there are a lot of reasons to dislike the man.

I remember the first time OSU lost to Baylor in MBB and in Eddie's postgame press conference, he said the word "Baylor" so derisively is sounded like poison dripping from his lips. Made me hate that guy.
