I'm speculating that Smith may be thinking that if she doesn't score the ball then who will on this team. If true, that puts her in a position of forcing shots and not passing when others may have a better scoring opportunity than she does at that moment.

I've said from beginning of conference it will be difficult for this team to win more than 8 to 10 conference games. I was hoping I was wrong after our recent 5-0 run, but now looking at the schedule ahead I'm back to thinking 8 to 10 games is our ceiling in Big 12 play. We had a golden opportunity tonight to control our own destiny and prove we were still the sheriff in town. But no, that appears to be Iowa State or Oklahoma IMO now. Oklahoma got them a great coach. Disgusting to watch teams celebrate and literally sweep the floor on our home court. Just a different sight to see -- something Baylor WBB fans not used to seeing. 5 loses now. When was the last time we had 5 loses in a season let alone less than halfway through Big 12 play??? You have to go all the way back 8 years ago to the 2013-2014 season when we picked up loss # 5 in the Elite Eight. Last time we lost 3 conferences games? The 2009-2010 season when we went 9-7 -- of course that team ended up making to to the Final Four --- there is always hope, right?

The Baylor WBB basketball success over the past decade was based on intense, strict, team discipline and unwavering defense. Every single second of the game.

IMO - Neither exist under this staff......thus far. And that should be a huge red flag for anyone looking for the program to sustain the national success it has over the past decade.

I think Oklahoma is in fact a very good team, just watch in the tournament they will upset people. They matched every shot we took. They had fight. We had foul trouble, FT have to be made and one of those layups that were so close go in we win. OU had the ball bounce there way a lot and refs loved them but there was more that we could have done to win this game for sure. Next up UT.

Look Nalyssa has never really been a willing passer in her 4 years. She is always mainly looking to get hers! Which isn't a bad thing. It is great when she is making shots but when she is not she needs to trust her teammates. I agree our guards didn't have their best games but smith needs to learn to pass to bickle more when bickle is wide open for layups when smith is double teamed. Smith is amazing but she's got to learn to trust her teammates! She is going through the same thing as odyssey sims when sims was a senior! She forced so many things and thought she had to do everything. She finally learned how to trust her teammates and looked where that got them. To an elite eight

I can see that- but disagree. Yet how many missed ft, threes, blown by defense, and bad passes by the guards? And up and down play of Queen? And you wonder why she may think that?? Do you watch the rest of the team constantly under perform. Yet, it's Smiths fault for not letting them do more?? She has to see the same thing and just takes it on her shoulders.

Look Nalyssa has never really been a willing passer in her 4 years. She is always mainly looking to get hers! Which isn't a bad thing. It is great when she is making shots but when she is not she needs to trust her teammates. I agree our guards didn't have their best games but smith needs to learn to pass to bickle more when bickle is wide open for layups when smith is double teamed. Smith is amazing but she's got to learn to trust her teammates! She is going through the same thing as odyssey sims when sims was a senior! She forced so many things and thought she had to do everything. She finally learned how to trust her teammates and looked where that got them. To an elite eight

Losing is always disappointing but this year is simply going to be up and down. Nicki does not have the athletes to run the table like previous teams. Even if Kim stayed, she would not be winning the Big 12 this season. She out talented teams annually and this year requires good coaching. She left Nicki in a really bad spot and we have to trust the process that Nicki will right the ship once we restock the team talent wise.

Nicki is a wizard on the offensive end. She knows how to space the floor and put kids in a position to be successful. The development of Andrews is amazing, the previous staff under utilized her badly. We have an elite class coming in next fall. Great things are ahead for this program but people need to stop freaking out about the mess left by the previous staff and then want to blame Nicki

Yes she could pass more. Yet she had 2 assists and should have been 4. Queen missed handled one pass from smith fir a turnover on smith. And owens missed a shot on a cut from a pass from smith.

3 blocks. 2 assists. 12 rebounds. 19 points. 7-9 on the FT. The others have to do more. More passing from smith is about 12th on the correction list for me.

Exactly, the only thing more CNC have done was put on Jordan's Jersey and play as her. She was in the refs all night calling plays bouncing around trying to get energy to push her athletes. But the posters that are at home during the games might not see that. Coach Tony is also the same way he gets the guards going. Sarah is killing it. Jaden could have a big summer of development and be on that level too. This team is gonna be great yeah Lyss will be gone, but we had ti learn how to play without Griner LC KB all these great players it's gonna be okay!!

The issue I have with Coach is the lack of adjustments. Seems slow on the go with that. Maybe coaching athletes at the WNBA levels have messed with her coaching at our ranks with far lesser talent. She needs to adjust.

The decision issues are this year right? My point! She feels she has to do everything. Do you trust the tiny trio? If I was her I wouldn't. Are they clutch? How about Queen? Again the weight of the entire program is on her. Was it all on KB? Cox? Didi? Juicy? Put any name there. Everything is on her. So she is pressing.

Lol prince was injured for all of 5 games that year! Nina Davis was the only surprise! That year odyssey and Nina were the only double figure scorers! Jones wasn't on the team! You know how many players on the 2013 team that were all Americans in high school? Sims, prince, Niya Johnson and iesha smalls! 4. This years team also has 4 all Americans in high school. But Jordan Lewis is a highly touted transfer from Alabama. So yeah it is close to the same! Did you even watch the UConn game that year! Odyssey was forcing everything and wasn't trusting her teammates! She was 3-15 that game. It wasn't until she started trusting them that they went on a run to make it a close game. Even the announcers in that game said odyssey needs to not do everything herself and trust her teammates.

I'd guess it has to do with the little part about she recruited them and coaches typically recruit players they think fit their system. But idk...

But we consistently got good looks and the opportunity to have good looks she cannot help them not catching the ball or them forcing the ball inside you can hear her from where i was sitting to stop these things try other things they didn't do it. What else can she do.

That seems a bit unfair. We lost Carrington, Didi, Ursin, J Oliver. Kim then didn't recruit at all and left the roster thinner than a piece of paper. She also played a big role in all those transfers bolting after she left, sabotaged the team this season. Nicki came in with a thin roster and some very limited players. She is doing the best she can under the circumstances
