A. Lee scored over 30 on us in game one. She set all time ncaa record with 61 vs OU. Other teams have held her to much less. But she is good in her own rhythm. Queen will get into foul trouble early, just because that is what she does. Bickle way too small vs. 6'6". How to stop her?

Front her with Lyssa. Lyssa is athletic enough to prevent most lobs and would thwart 80 percent of passes to the post from the front position. Double team at times, and focus on help side all game long. But I think a front position is a must as we and OU got out butts handed to us trying to keep her off the block.

Your thoughts?

First off -- we need to set a new record for students at the game and we need our largest crowd of the season to help the team win!

Gillespie might be able to provide a little more depth in the paint. She's giving up some inches but she has the body to bounce around. She wasn't available the first game. And queen spent much of it on the bench in foul trouble … sound familiar? We're a different team then they met in Kansas. They will be too. Hopefully we are ready.

Is she available? Seems like she hasn't played lately.

As far as I've heard, yes. She isn't in the shape needed to deal with UT or OU speed.

Would love to see her used more and allowed to develop. The UT bigs had no speed and might have been good match ups for G. In fact, she seems more athletic than their bigs. I like her future at BU!

Gillespie had been hurt but is now available again. She actually played in the closing minutes of the Iowa State game. She looked to be in better shape.

From the very few times I have seen her she shoots the ball very well.

Collen should have a better plan forcK State this time around. Bears need to keep the energy and poise up. We were not as poised against OU as we were against Texas.

Fronting, locking, and help side got it done.

Whipped the cats. Strong showing for the Bears.

Gilispie was on the stationary bike at game time. Maybe not quite ready for such a physical game?

Part of the new rehabilitation/fitness program Heffner has implemented for her.
Bike gives her cardiovascular fitness while keeping stress of her body weight off her knees.
I doubt she will play anymore this year - If I have counted correctly she is eligible for a red shirt year.
She knows what it is going to take for her to play D1 ball and play for Niki - she seems motivated and determined.

I noticed that! And they did not have her participating in the shootaround. She played against Iowa State (at the end of the game) but she was limping around in the pre-game warmups last night. I suspect whatever issue has been giving her issues is aggravated again.

Any chance she redshirts? At this stage I simple don't see her benefiting other than a "body"

We'll that's a shame if she just can't go physically because we desperately need her to relieve some minutes from Egbo and Smith in blowouts. I wouldn't redshirt her for the sake of an extra year because I believe Collen will recruit well enough in the next few years that she will never be part of the rotation. I hope she develops so well that I'm wrong.

The videos of her high-school games showed quick feet,, good dribbling and agility with her hands and rebounding,, especially for her size.
