Iowa State Hosts No. 9 Baylor Sunday

Iowa State looks for its second sweep in Big 12 play versus No. 9 Baylor on Jan. 31.
Iowa State will honor head coach Bill Fennelly pregame for reaching 700 wins in his coaching career with Toledo and Iowa State.

Key Storylines

• Junior Ashley Joens is 8th in the nation in scoring, averaging 24.4 points a game. Joens earned multiple National Player of the Week nods two weeks ago after scoring a combined 57 points and grabbing 27 boards in wins over OSU and at Baylor. Joens is one of two players in the nation averaging over 24+ points and 9+ rebounds per game. She has four career 30-point, 15-rebound performances. All other former Cyclones combine for three all-time.
• Iowa State is ranked 30th in the NET rankings. Iowa State has played 16 games this season, which is among the top-20 in nation for games played.
• With three wins over the NET Top-50, Iowa State ranks tied for 10th in the nation.
• The Cyclones have faced the 13th toughest schedule to date in the nation.

Snappin' Streaks

• Iowa State snapped the Lady Bears 61-game home win streak with a 75-71 win over BU.
• The win marked the first time Iowa State has won a game in Waco since 1997.
• Few Big 12 teams have grabbed a win over Baylor in the last 6 seasons, as Baylor has lost just 7 Big 12 games in that span, three of which have been to the Cyclones. No team has defeated BU twice in that span.

Iowa State @ OU tonight at 7pm. Haven't checked, but probably on ESPN+.

On paper, looks like it should be lopsided in ISU's favor.

However, keep in mind that only because OU choked on the bit in the last :30 or so did ISU pull out the lucky (1 point?) win last time - in Ames. Maddy Williams and Taylor Robertson are capable of having big games. I think Robertson had like 8 3's in the first game. I vividly remember her visibly crying at the end of the game with the close loss, when she had played so hard and well in that game. Really felt for her. They just frittered away the lead right there at the end of their last couple of possessions...
