Shezam, wheels seem to be falling off up there lately. Losing to OU at home is bound to have messed with their heads at least a little. Losing at KSU I can see, but the Sooners? This year? On your own court? With second place on the line? Unbelievable.

Excerpt
"Even Mountaineer assistant coach Lester Rowe is on the injured list, as he tore an Achilles' about a month ago.

"When we introduce the team, we have more people coming out in sweats then in uniform," head coach Mike Carey said, half joking. "Then when I try to move around in front of the bench, you have all the girls with their crutches and now Lester bumps into you with his (knee) scooter, it's tough just to find a place to walk."

Left with eight players nine if you count a gimpy Pardee Carey doesn't have much margin for error when it comes to fatigue, foul problems or further injuries. He's finished a game with just five players when fouls disqualified the other three.

For all the problems, Carey is still fortunate to have high-end veterans in Tynice Martin and Naomi Davenport. A junior who sat out last year with a foot injury, Martin is returning to past form and averaging over 17.6 points per game, while Davenport, a senior, is a do-it-all player who leads WVU in rebounds (7.8) and steals (1.7) and is second in points (14.8) and assists (2.4).

That pair has been joined by two indispensible freshmen in Kari Niblack and Madisen Smith, as well as transfer guard Lucky Rudd, to give the Mountaineers basically an iron five. All but Niblack average at least 30 minutes per game this season.

"I've always said players get used to playing the minutes they play," explained Carey. "If they are used to playing 25 minutes, then that's what they're conditioned for. But if they're used to playing, as is the case for some of our women, 38 or 40 minutes, then I think you get conditioned for that also. It can be tough, especially when you get in foul trouble. But these girls have done a great job. When you lose some people later in the season, you have to reinvent some things, and these girls have done a great job adjusting to that."

West Virginia seems to be injury plagued every year. It's hard to chalk that up to coincidence. Either something is seriously flawed about their conditioning program, or they are going overboard with their "physical play" philosophy in practices and games.

So...considering the top 4 coming down the stretch, who would you rather see on our side of the bracket?? ISU, UT, or WV?? I am not worried about OSU or KSU. I don't think they match up with us at all. Still scratching my head over how close OSU played us. Chalking it up to a fluke.

Tynice Martin is scary but I think I'd rather face WV and let ISU and Texas battle it out on the other side. Thoughts?

ISU visits Texas this Saturday. I am interested in this outcome before drawing a straw on BIG 12 tourney. Big game for both coaches.

No concerns here for our draw in the tournament. This is a team that has no real weakness, and is better at every position than almost every conference opponent we face. They also have depth and leadership, and we know the level of competitive fire that Mulkey has, and it is rarely banked. No defeats this time around, hopefully all the way to the top of the Final Four ladder.

I want to see Iowa State and Texas on the the other side for selfish reasons. I want them and Baylor to play for the trophy. My two favorite teams. I would also like to see them face TX again and beat them again. It may not turnout that way but that's what I want. And I usually get what I want if I lust after it long enough.

The fact that WVU is taking and has one more game with us, it is almost a certainty that ISU and UT will be on the other side of the bracket from us.

There should be some really good games on Saturday. Kansas State, TCU, and West Virginia are all firmly on the bubble and desperately need wins. Those games may end up being play-in games for the NCAAs.

Tech prevails over the Lady Land Thieves in Lubbock, 88-82.
The OU board is looking forward to one & done in the tourney and an end to a rather wretched season. Lots of grumbling about Sherri Coale , yet in their guts they know that she isn't going anywhere. This team was short and slow and played leaky defense. There's not much bright hope on the way with their 2019 class, either.
Kinda sad....

Yes, generally there is. But it is hardly ever posted here or on Baylorbears.com. It requires a tremendous amount of effort and several google searches to locate it. I generally can find our post-game quotes more easily on our opponents sports page.
