Kansas State has a non-conference game with Arkansas on 11/26 based on the schedule you posted so that is another Big12/SEC match up in the days/week following Thanksgiving and the first weekend in December.

Another huge loss to NCAAW basketball. Knee injuries are awful. I wonder if she actually comes back for a full season. She surely would've been a high draft pick next year.

Lines.com 2023 WNBA Mock Draft had her at #3.

So,a super senior year plus a medical redshirt year will equal 6 seasons at KSU.Her injury likely derails any realistic Big 12 title hopes for this season. Will she be on a squad in 23-24 that can compete for a championship?

Just curious...Tristan Clark took a medical redshirt year, and supposedly he couldn't return to play for Baylor and transferred. Have also heard same will apply for Everyday John. How is Lee doing this?

I think Tristan took medical retirement status to keep his scholarship from counting against the team limit of 13.I am assuming that Lee's scholarship will count against the team limit of 15 for WBB.I don't think you can retire(not count) and then return to play at the same school.

2023 RECRUITING
Sahara Williams
May 17, 2022

Wing 5-11 Waterloo West HS Waterloo IA

The USA Basketball 3x3 U18 women's team sealed their gold medal run
on Sunday in Debrecen, Hungary, with a 21-11 victory over Germany, marking their fourth consecutive 3x3 U18 World Cup title.

The women started the weekend and their run to the finals with an early quarterfinal matchup against the Netherlands on Saturday. Led by Sahara Williams, who recorded a team-high nine points, the U.S. was able to hold off their opponents and capture the victory, 21-15, to move on to a semifinal matchup with Spain on Sunday.

After a 40-minute rain delay, the U.S. and Spain tipped off in the first semifinal game Sunday, marking a rematch of the 2021 3x3 U18 final. In an evenly matched contest, the Americans and Spaniards traded baskets for the first half of the game and showed a tie at seven with around 5:00 to play. Over the next 90 seconds, the U.S. added three hard-fought one-point baskets while also locking down defensively. The run would ultimately push to seven points (14-7) highlighted by a Mikaylah Williams two-pointer.

Spain's first points in nearly three minutes of game time came via two free throws by Irene Broncano at the 2:12 mark for a 16-9 USA advantage. The U.S. weathered a late surge by Spain but secured their spot in the finals with KK Arnold's two-pointer with :31 remaining on the clock. When asked about the rematch, Mikaylah Williams, the 2021 MVP, noted that "We had the same game plan. We executed the game plan and it ended up working out. We faced adversity and took care of business."

In the final, the U.S. opened the scoring with a Mikaylah Williams make from beyond the arc, the only two-pointer for the U.S. in the contest. The rest of the 21-11 win was defined by the team's tenacity in the paint.

Sahara Williams was everywhere, helping on the glass and registering two critical blocks in the first five minutes to help set the tone for the Americans defensively. She finished with six points, helping cap off an impressive string of performances through the single-elimination games.

With just over four minutes remaining, a Mikaylah Williams behind-the-back lay-in pushed the U.S. lead to six (12-6), but Germany was able to make a push to cut the deficit to two (12-10) with 4:30 left to play. The Americans responded, closing their title win on a 9-1 run highlighted by a bevy of physical and determined inside scores. Sarah Strong helped in that way by making her presence felt on the boards and ended the game with four points.

FORMER HEAD COACH
Marlene Stollings

"Texas Tech paid former women's basketball coach Marlene Stollings approximately $740,000 in settling a lawsuit she filed after being fired by the school in 2020. The lawsuit was settled earlier this month, as Stollings alleged discrimination and retaliation against the school and athletic director Kirby Hocutt.

On Aug. 6, 2020, Hocutt fired Stollings, a day after a USA Today report alleged that Stollings had created a toxic and abusive culture within the Texas Tech program. She was 32-28 in two seasons at Texas Tech and had four years remaining on her contract when she was fired.

Twelve players left Texas Tech during Stollings' time as coach there -- eight after her first season and four after the second. Stollings told ESPN in 2020 that in taking over a program that went 7-23 overall and 1-17 in the Big 12 in 2017-18, she needed to make massive changes. She said Texas Tech's administration was 'very clear on what the program was lacking' when she came in."

NEW ASSISTANT COACH

Texas head coach Vic Schaefer announced Tuesday the hiring of Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton, who will join the staff as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. Wisdom-Hylton spent the last season as an assistant coach at Boston College and the two previous seasons at Wisconsin. She spent seven seasons on the Purdue sidelines after earning two honorable mention All-America honors for the Boilermakers as a player.

She spent four seasons in the WNBA after being drafted in the first round in 2009.
She was the 13th overall pick in the first round of the WNBA draft by the Los Angeles Sparks. She played two seasons with the Sparks, one with the Chicago Sky and her final season with the Mystics. Wisdom-Hylton also played professionally on the international level, competing for teams in Austria, France, Greece and Israel.
