LSU All-American forward Angel Reese is not with the program during their road trip to Hammond as the Tigers gear up for their matchup against Southeastern.
Tip-off started with Reese missing during warmups and not in Friday night's starting lineup.
Kim Mulkey went with a starting lineup of: Hailey Van Lith, Last-Tear Poa, Mikaylah Williams, Aneesah Morrow and Sa'Myah Smith.

Not surprised with all the drama unfolding on Twitter. Flau'jae and Angel mom arguing on Instagram, alexis morris, Carson and her mother talking about exposing the lsu. It's alot going on and I'm glad it doesn't involve BU.

It is a big mess! Yes. I am very glad it doesn't concern us ! I would also think something like this will cause some recruits to have second thoughts about playing for LSU.

Well that didn't take very long to unfold…..

Kim looked the other way and fed the problem of ego, social media queens, and lack of bball discipline and hard work. Last year, the team surprised itself and lived beyond everyone's expectations as the lucky stars aligned in their favor. Now they are not surprising anyone, and the last year's celebration can only carry one so far when other teams like SC have doubled down on effort and talent. Kim recruited so well everyone was certain she was sure to repeat, but the locker room was out of control before the championship rings arrived, and the future is uncertain this year. Kim is smart enough to figure it out, but when you have built the team around a self-centered player making over a million, the solution will be painful. This is the problem with NIL: these are kids and not proven commodities. Kim always lands on her feet, but the fall will not be pretty to watch. And yes, she contributed to the self-centered culture by maneuvering herself into the highest paid coach. The girls are mini me versions of their coach's behavior. Grab money, grab attention, and openly distain anyone who dare question your demands.

Yep, she created the culture and now has to eat the fruit therein. You could not write a better script for tv drama.

Flaujae is just starting to come back from her flu illness. She should be close to 100%. She was the high scorer of the game with 17 points. Their team did fine without Angel, they rebounded well, and played unselfish. Their top 2 transfers Morrow and Van Lith have been playing well together, their chemistry and team play have been coming together. Their starting 5/6 without Angel seem to be gelling. Coach Mulkey won't hesitate to bench her star player no matter what the media and fans say. Word on the street it's about Angel's attitude adjustment and get her grades up. With Mulkey's 40+ years experience coaching, she won't put up with that. You have to give Mulkey credit, with drama surrounding her team and without their top player, she kept them together and focused for this game on road. I would never bet against Mulkey to manage it and have them ready by the NCAA tourney. This isn't her first rodeo.

It's Mulkey… y'all making a mountain out of nothing. She'll correct the ego issue real fast and will have them as a favorite by March

hopefully it's fixed before Virginia Tech because that was a tough match up even with a loaded roster for LSU. and i'm also confused why Poole is not playing either.

I think it was gonna be tough for this team to gel just because there is SOOOO many new pieces and it did not help that it didn't seem like all of them where together this summer and right now they are trying to play catch up with chemistry. It doesn't help when conflict like these arise especially when you are in the eye of the entire basketball world and it is from two returners. LSU is a lot like us where not many have played more than a year if anyone has been there all 3 of her years there.

i do think these issues have a negative impact on recruiting because if these athletes don't know nothing else it's basketball and social media. i hope it can be fixed because having all these great teams is great for womens basketball regardless of who you root for.

It's their 5 game. With essentially a brand new roster full of alphas. It was always going to take that team awhile to gel. I could care less how they do. But only a fool would doubt a Mulkey coached team. That team has the highest ceiling in the country come March if the gel. It's clear many on here openly riot an hope for her failures and that's fine but I wouldn't count on it.
As far as recruiting, this discussion is made on here every year how something that happens or that Kim does is going to negatively affect their recruiting. It's not, and their transfer and HS classes show that.

you really decided to pick and choose what i was saying. I wasn't saying anything bad about the team all i said it would be difficult to gel i'm especially this time of the year. it didn't help that people were not together this summer. Angel for example hand a good bit with team USA. That is what they are lacking is chemistry and you can see it. I didn't say they were not talented. I didn't say she was a bad coach. You chose to say those things. On the recruiting thing all of twitter is talking about how this can impact recruiting depending how this is handled. There is little information about what happened all we know is two players parents were arguing and Angels minutes were cut against Kent State. I think we as basketball fans are able to talk about whatever we want without your approval of what we can talk about . We don't have to praise her everytime we mention Coach Mulkey's name. But we are allowed to discuss a topic that is buzzing all around womens college basketball on a women's college basketball board. so please just chill out

A Mulkey thread. I could care less if you praise her or bash her. I've learned reading these boards the last 4 years the majority would rather bash her. And that's their choice ultimately

Just because I don't comment in every WBB thread doesn't mean I don't watch the games and support the team. You've seen me in other threads plenty of times. I clearly devote most of my posting time on Football and MB but i obviously follow and support the lady Bears programs. Softball and Volleyball included. As far as Harvard, Bears by 16 wild guess

This is not some blown out of the water story by BU fans. This is the headline story on ESPN wbb page. So yes, the whole of wbb is trying to figure out the meltdown. Kim may or may not get the ship righted. We all know she is a survivor. But the game has changed with athletes carrying more power, and therefore, it is harder to control their off court persona.

I've also read that LSU has missed out on 4 top targets this year in recruiting, with Edward being the most recent. Edwards supposedly offered an obscenely generous NIL deal by LSU, but chose South Carolina instead. Cambridge may be their remaining top target, so I would expect all the LSU NIL resources aimed in her direction.

She was a coach herer for a long time with championships and a fair amount of drama. It's fair to post about her good or bad because we are not curing cancer up in here.

If it's fair to post about her good or bad then why did several posters on the WBB forum ***** and moan and any Mulkey thread that popped up ? I personally don't care, but that seems highly hypocritical.

Edwards $2.2 million payout to commit to LSU is FALSE and if you read all the stuff added to it is ridiculous. No team in the country will offer $2.2 million cash, private car, private jet for her and for her family, no attendance in class, etc.
It was started in social media (which of course everyone knows are factual LOL). Then one of the SC-e social media/youtube guy got a hold of it and made it public nationwide. Then everyone fell for it, ran with it, spread it, believed it. Some people hide behind computers write whatever they want without consequences. Thankfully some of us have common sense and can figure things out.
LSU really didn't "miss out" on Edwards. Edwards had already decided on SC for long time. She lives in Columbia area. Staley helped set up brand new honors engineering curriculum just for her. Staley brought in several WNBA players including Aja Wilson who talked to her privately at halftime during her visit and that cemented the deal.

So glad that we have a coach that puts the spotlight on the PLAYERS not the coach .

I was very disappointed when Kim left. I was concerned that BU WBB might sink back into the years before Kim. With the work CNC and her staff has put in I'm too busy being optimistic about our current situation and I don't have time to be overly concerned with other WBB programs. I really hope our current coach continues to grow the Baylor program and help prepare our players for life after college whether it is in basketball of other endeavors.

This explanation doesn't seem plausible, since LSU (I just checked) is on the semester system. If she was eligible at the beginning of the season, she should be eligible now.

It also does not seem plausible as she was originally benched during the second half of a game.

Although it is true that she has had GPA issues and supposedly that was why she was not a Wooden Finalist last year because the Wooden award has a 2.0 GPA requirement (but LSU does not require a 2.0 GPA for eligibility). Here is a link to an article from last March explaining some of this:

Thank you, Bear Tiger. I just keep reminding myself that we are watching young women who are in college. I have daughters and I try to imagine how I would feel if I had a child on the team. Don't get me wrong I really, really want to see this team grow and excel!
