It saddens me to inform the SicEm 365 members of the passing of my friend Slimecap. I was informed today that while on vacation visiting her family in the Carolina's, she passed away suddenly of cardiac arrest. She was one of the biggest boosters of the Baylor Women's Basketball team I'd ever meet.

A proud graduate of Baylor University she had a distinguished career in marketing and social services. Her knowledge and research on various Baylor athletics and individual players was amazing. She was a true Christian and her faith was strong. May God bless her and may she rest in peace .

Oh no, I hate to hear this. She was such a great contributor. All her remarks were well-reasoned and kind, and her writing was beautiful. I privately messaged her a few times and she always responded in her typical engaging and thoughtful manner. She will be so missed.

Sadness. I got the honor of meeting her at one of the games and it was nice to have a face to put with the moniker. I said once before in a post, Slimecap was the kind of poster I wish I could be…positive, informed and above the sometimes ugly fray. Didn't know her well, but I feel a sense of loss. To her family, her friends, and those who knew her better than I, my sincere condolences.

We've lost a great friend, and Baylor has lost one of of its most loyal fans. She was always kind to add pictures and informative graphics to some of my posts ( I'm not a paid subscriber, so I can't post images that aren't included in links) . She was always so thoughtful, kind, and had great insight into the players and game.

I'm glad I met her numerous times. She still owes me one of those special Root Beers (lol) but I/we all owe her a lot more than that.

Gosh, I really hate to hear of this news. I did not know her well, but had a number of conversations with her over the years and she was just one of the most pleasant, positive people, and Baylor fan, that I think I've ever met.

She really went out of her way to keep Baylor women's basketball in the limelight through her WBB/B12 thread, as well as others. She will be sorely missed...

Oh my goodness, I wondered why she had not posted after the Utah win. She was such a positive contributor. Her posts and questions for the athletes were well thought-out and gracious. I also privately messaged her a few times and she always responded in her typical engaging and thoughtful manner. She will be so very much missed. I fall back on an old Irish proverb - "May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows your dead"

Wow, that's terrible news. For many years she was the best poster on this WBB board. She always brought the breaking news and insight on the Lady Bears - often with photos. She will be greatly missed on here.

I never had the pleasure to meet her, but I could tell she had a passion for WBB and this program.

I'm glad geewago posted about this on the premium board and thanks to Bill for sharing here. What a sad day for the Baylor family and a great loss. I was fortunate to meet Mary in person a few times and she was so nice and thoughtful.

A massive loss. She was a wonderful poster and from all accounts, an even better person. Condolences and prayers to her family and friends.

One of my favorite posters for any sport…not just WBB. She seemed like a tremendous person. I will miss her.

Slimecap posted so much about other programs, transfers, players in addition to Baylor news. Her knowledge of WBB was incredible! She will be missed. No one ever posted like Slimecap.

I am so saddened to hear of this. Slimecap was a treasured poster and always above the fray. I considered her a friend although we never formally met. When I had COVID 2 summers ago she was an encourager for me and that is when we began communicating more. She was always kind, positive, and loved taking Baylor Wbb and a little family. I am grateful for the short time I knew her and she will be missed here on the board and doubtless among the many who knew her. Prayers for her family.

Oh no! That's awful. So sorry to hear this. I only knew Slimecap from this forum but I was always impressed how in-depth informed and connected she appeared to be. I was also always impressed that she was so positive in all instances. Prayers for her family. She will be missed.

Sad news. Any time someone had a question here about stats, past players, quotes, rule changes, records, you name it.....Slimecap was nearly always the one to find the answer.

So sorry. I'm praying for her family just the best when it came to. WBB posters. She will be missed.

DFWBill, Geewago and I just lost a good friend. She was so much fun on game road trips. Rest easy, Mary. We will see you again soon.

A truly great person and an example for all to emulate on a fan forum. We should all be proud that she was a Baylor Bear and always will be.

Oh Bill, I'm truly sad to hear this. Mary was a wonderful soul and so kind. Her work was amazing helping others. I had reached out to her recently but didn't hear back. At least she was with family when this happened. My condolences to you and Scout as I know she was part of your life. Thanks for letting us know.

Oh my so sad! She was amazing and knew her stuff! she will be missed and she was always so nice to me. Prayers go out to her family! I hope someone in her family sees these posts.

This. Both have such a deep knowledge of the game.

I had the privilege of meeting her and visiting a bit at one of Assassins famous lunches.
