So how many times have Baylor and Texas met when both teams were undefeated? It can't be too many; there haven't been a lot of years where both teams were good enough to go undefeated through non-conference. And it seems a bit unusual for them to be playing this early.

Yes i feel like it'll be a good game for her, to show wnba coaches and the world shes still really good. With the national attention and wnba coaches tuned in, i just see her playing her heart out. Aijha plays different when she feels like she has something to prove, she just has this fire, and if I'm Texas i wouldn't want to play against her.

I pray shes healthy by then because we will need her.

A team with 3 or more losses could still win the conference. One key to championship is to win a game even when you have a bad shooting night. That is where our defense and depth will come in handy.

The schedule also matters now since everyone doesn't play everyone twice. I briefly looked and it appears Baylor got a break on the schedule.

For example the "top teams" in the conference right now seem to be Texas, Baylor, KSU, OU, and until proven otherwise (probably will be proven otherwise) TCU. Baylor plays TCU and KSU only once and we play them at home. We play OU on the road, but only play them once. Texas has to play all three of those mentioned above twice.

Great observation. Schedule is unfair for some for sure.

I'm excited to see Jada Walker play her defense on Rori Harmon. I think Kyla played decent defense on there big last year. Not sure why Kyla is not playing. Gaston for TX was not on the floor at all in the game I watched them play against AZ

Partial answer to my question since 2000, the only time we have been undefeated the first time we play Texas was the Griner season when we went undefeated. Texas lost early to Stanford that year. I'd guess there's almost no chance it's ever happened.

Hate that we will have more than a week since our USF game and they will have a warmup game 3 days before ours. We got a slow start and had poor 3 pt shooting last time we had a long layoff before Delaware State.

I was thinking the same thing…..

I was thing thr same thing. We didnt do so good having that huge layoff. Us not playing anyone makes me nervous. We have to just hope our practice will be good as the game

My hope is with Del State they all went home about a week and coming right back after Christmas we will have more time in gym for conditioning and shooting.

Vic always wants his teams to thug it up and flop, and it will be very apparent on their home court. When he was D coach at A&M, he followed the philosophy of "foul at every opportunity because they can't catch them all".

Some one should send that statement to the Official Refs office !! How cool would it be if 3 or 4 hornettes fowled out. ? Big game if this is our only match in regular season !

Not the only match in regular season. We play them again in Waco on Feb. 1. We don't play every team twice, but we do play Texas twice. This is actually a bigger game for Texas than us considering the schedules of both teams (Texas tougher schedule overall) and that the second game is in Waco.

Yes!! I remember the elite 8 game where we had beaten them 3 times already but lost…….lots of that from A&M that day-foul, no call, foul, no call in that game……….

They have added the flop rule to WBB this year. Bella got warned in one of our earlier games. Thought it was a bad call, but think since it was new, the ref wanted to try it on for size….

Yes, who gets in foul trouble the first? It could be a short-lived matchup. Basketball is the most unpredictable game I can think of because player eligibility can be taken away even without any egregious actions on the part of a player and at the whims of referees that are out of position to actually see what is going on.

Hornettes will target leaders early to get in trouble so they'll have to sit ( like Pili). Hope we do the same. And likely some home-cookin'. Will be interesting.

I totally feel the same way about our team, i feel we will have target players we want in foul trouble.

Having Blackwell available will be critical. Her overall quickness and her quick jumping ability will be needed under the boards to offset Texas' far superior height. Her along with Buggs, Bella and Dre will need to have their best efforts.

ESPN just posted an article saying that Rori Harmon tore her right ACL.. out for season. So sad for her

Hate that. She is a great competitor. Will make our task easier, but I was looking forward to seeing Rori and Jada get after it.

Might be harder. Know Jada was looking forward to the challenge. Hopefully there is no letdown.

I definitely miss the double round robin schedule in basketball and single in football. It was inevitable that we would lose it with expansion.
