She's a 90 day wonder. Why so many schools. Vic didn't shed a tear when she left. I hope she works out well for us, time will tell.

Who are you talking about? The thread is about two coaches who are no longer here. Don't understand the line about "I hope she works out well for us".

A bit of confusion has been created.Somehow this thread shifted to expressing concern about the staff's ability to recruit top high school players. In response to that comment the name of Marcayla(Johnson)was raised. She is a 4 star recruit out of Tulsa Washington high school who signed last month..She is not the transfer from Florida who started at Texas with Vic.

Matharu actually was with Vic at Mississippi State first, but I stand by your point.

I'm sure that the right people in terms of donors and higher ups will know but will see on that. I am saying that this situation happened here might not be addressed in a press conference which will leave some questions on what really happened.

Jhasmin Player might be able to fill a seat on the bench.

Here's the question for Jhasmin Player to ponder. Do you want to move down from associate head coach to the better recruiting position of the two here at Baylor when you are a Baylor graduate? It's not say that I don't think she is coming to Baylor or definitely will go to Baylor. It's a big question for her to answer. If it was for an associate head coach position it becomes more interesting and more likely to move to Baylor.

I guess our families aren't "high enough" donors to be told what happened to the 2 asst coaches. We're in the dark like everyone else. Oh well.

The bigger question for Player is probably whether she'd want to come to a place, whether it is her alma mater or not, that might not allow her to publicly live her life the way other coaches are able to publicly live their lives. (I.E., sharing photos of her beautiful family on social media, introducing her wife as "my wife," etc.)

That's another great question right there.

Aliyah Matharu was the player I was referring to. Very talented, but why transfer so many times?

You would have to ask her. Some go for playing time, some for NIL dollars, some because their current coach didn't live up to his/her promises of how they would be used or the style of play they were told would be run, some because a different coach or system gives them a better opportunity to gain the skills they believe they need to go to the next level. But if you follow the portal, football or basketball, it is not headed in the direction of players staying put anywhere for too long, especially graduate players. It is the wild west of pretty much unrestricted free agency.

Ones that do stay probably says a lot about the relationship and confidence they have in their head coach. Seems we must be doing pretty well in that regard in all of our three major sports.

CNC has a regular press conference today. I wonder if anyone will ask about this. I'd guess not

I expect a boiler plate answer of can't discuss personnel issues. Respect privacy etc

More likely to find out from social media of the players over the next couple of weeks

I recently read an article about this. College coaches and assistant coaches are fired mid-season despite a winning record if there are internal issues, conflicts with players or staff, declining team morale, or if the organization believes a change is needed to achieve long-term success. Winning alone might not address underlying problems affecting team dynamics or performance.

Beartiger Baylor will never publicly talk about a dismissal. But I am sure that you and your family that are great supporters of Baylor women's basketball could get a private disclosure.

It had to be something very serious to be fired during mid-season. Since they were both involved in recruiting, it may be related to that. Oh lawd, hope it doesn't have anything to do with recruiting violations. Obviously, it's something serious to warrant firing both of them.

Personally, I miss Kim.

She was asked about this yesterday and said she will not discuss it. They will all pitch in and make it work until good replacements are available.
